Sugar River Animal Rescue was inspired by two wonderful dogs that came into the lives of Stephanie and Lauren.
We are a network of loving foster homes and take into care, neglected, homeless, and pre-euthanasia dogs from shelters, as well as owner surrenders. All dogs of age, are vaccinated, microchipped, and spayed or neutered prior to adoption.
Sugar was adopted by Stephanie in 2016. She was emaciated, terrified, sick, and her adult puppies had just been adopted. Sugar was beyond lost, but found her soulmate in Stephanie and her transformation inspired Sugar River Animal Rescue.
The horrific overpopulation of domesticated dogs and cats is a problem that was introduced by humans and continues to be exacerbated by the actions of humans. It is up to us to help these helpless creatures who did not ask to be in the situations that they are in. It is our mission to reduce the number of domestic animals euthanized each year, by saving the ones we can, and educating the public on positive practices that will benefit man's best friend.
Stephanie is a mother of 2 and works in law. She moved from IL to Wisconsin with her family in 2015.
Lauren is a mother of 3 and a special education teacher. She worked as a dog behaviorist and a vet tech.
Nicole has been in rescue for many years. She has experience working in Animal Control and is currently a Veterinary Technician.
