I am a graduate student of Linguistics at the department of Humanities and Social Sciences, IIT Delhi. My area of research is Syntax, particularly the Minimalist approach. My thesis topic relates to theoretical issues such as Feature Inheritance, Phases, CP-TP domain and empirically, I am mostly focusing on Eastern Indo-Aryan languages like Bangla, Odiya and Assamese.

I've been warned on how PhD life can soon begin to feel like working in a silo and one might lose in touch with other hobbies so I try to maintain a balance. Well besides my Sisyphean project of learning to play the guitar I enjoy reading fiction [Goodreads: https://www.goodreads.com/user/show/30586105-srabasti ] watching films [Letterboxd - https://letterboxd.com/Srabasti18/] and devouring YouTube videos of recipes I am never going to try.
