i am a self-taught artist specializing in hand poked tattoos, working primarily with my own flash designs.

flash ✿ each piece of flash is unique and is only tattooed one time. flash pieces can be reserved in advance, or chosen on the day of the appointment.

the majority of my available flash can be viewed on the highlights sections of my instagram (@squiggly_maxine). designs that have already been tattooed appear with a colored dot. it is also possible (and even encouraged) to look through the physical copies of my flash books at the tattoo appointment.

booking ✿ upon offering an appointment, i ask for a deposit via venmo or paypal to hold your spot. this deposit is only returned if I need to cancel, so please be committed to your appointment when you decide to pay the deposit.

your deposit counts towards the final cost of your tattoo and the remainder of the payment will be due in ~**CASH ONLY**~ plz

rescheduling ✿ when it is possible for me to reschedule your appointment and transfer your deposit, i am happy to do so with enough advance notice. HOWEVER, often when i travel and do guest spots, my schedule is very limited and rescheduling is not possible.

pricing ✿ price will vary based on size, placement on the body, and complexity of design, but my hourly rate typically falls around $150 per hour. my rate may also fluctuate depending on where i am working. that being said, its important to me that my tattoos are accessible, so feel free to let me know what your $$ situation is and we can try to work something out. i am happy to provide an price estimate if you have a particular piece in mind, or help point you to flash that aligns with your budget. i am also open to barters or trades.

please be aware that hand poked tattoos, while using the same general materials and process, are not indistinguishable from machine tattoos. as my personal style has developed, i have come to favor tattoos that look hand made, as opposed to made by a computer or machine. i often describe my style as organic. this might look like a line that isn't perfectly uniform or a fill that is textured rather than solid.

i aim to provide a tattoo experience that is relaxed, comfortable and communicative. it is extremely important to me that anyone receiving a tattoo from me feels comfortable asking questions, repositioning the stencil, asking for breaks, etc. sitting in silence is fine, as well holding an engaged conversation. i work to create a safe space for any person and all skin and body types are welcome.
