Artemisia has been possessed before and it was not a pleasant experience. Now, after a hoard of spirts attacks her convent, Artemisia is possessed again. This time the spirit is much more powerful and its motives are hard to figure out. One thing that they both want is to stay alive so now they have to work together to stop the greatest evil since the Raven King.
The characters in this book were amazingly written. I really enjoyed how each character interacted with religion along with the world around them. Each character leapt of the page and now they have a special place in my heart.
The setting was super interesting. I wanted a little bit more because the world seemed so expansive with so many different places being talked about but I couldn't see how they connected. I think a map would have been super helpful to have. But the setting was described beautifully with amazing attention to detail.
The story was paced really well with all of the story beats falling where they should. The only issue that I think that I have is this book seems to have been written as a first book but I am unsure if the author is planning for there to be more books. There were some really important questions that were not answered and some wording in the end that made it seem as if the story was meant to be expanded. I would love to see more in this world but would have liked a little more closer.
Overall, really amazing book. Honestly it's one of the best books that I've read this year.

The dragonets of prophecy are tired of being hidden in a cave where they are ridiculed day after day by their three dragon keepers. But everything changes when a nightwing comes to see how the dragonets are doing only to find out that instead of the required skywing, a rainwing stands in its place. Now the dragonets have to fight to keep themselves and each other alive.
This was such an interesting book because the main characters are dragons but in this world there are still humans. So the perspective does take a little bit of time to get used to but once you do, this book is an adventure.
First the characters, I thought that the characters were very good, if slightly simply written. Their wants are very simple which makes sense because they are meant to be young. One thing that I wasn't totally sure about was how quickly the dragons age so it was hard to get a firm grasp on how mature the dragonets were supposed to be. The other dragons were really interestingly written and their characters were beautifully rendered.
Next, the setting. The setting is a little hard to talk about because we mostly stay in the same place for this book. However, I though it was beautifully written. The words that the author choose were well picked and descriptive. I'm curious to see how the rest of the places are described.
Finally, the plot. This book is really interesting to be a book designed for younger ages. There is a lot of violence within this book but it doesn't feel out of place. Every action that happens makes sense and the background is super interesting.
Overall, this book is super interesting and I'm excited to read the rest of the series.
This book is part of the Shadowhunter's universe.
I enjoyed this book much more than I enjoyed most of the books in the Mortal Instruments series. These characters are just so much more compelling to me and the time period was really interesting to read about. The plot of the story was also much more interesting than the Mortal Instruments. I honestly cannot wait to read the rest of the series.

Mika Moon gets a strange message asking her to tutor three young witches. The interesting thing is that witches are not supposed to be together.Â
This book was so cute and cozy. It's definitely an adult cozy fantasy but I really liked it. The characters had a lot of depth. The character development felt like it could really happen. The children were adorable. The magic system was also really interesting. Overall, a really solid book!
Baba Yaga has been apart from humans for a long time. That is, until a long-time friend of hers shows up at her door begging her for help. Now Yaga is thrown back into the world of mortals but will she be able to save the people she cares about?
I really enjoyed the first half and last 100 pages of this book. The rest of the book is really taken up by a trope that I really don't like. Yaga seems to not care about anything anymore except for her family while the whole book she had been fighting for Russia. The end of the book made it better but that section really just didn't work for me. The characters were interesting, the magic system was interesting, and the mythology was interesting. I just didn't totally vibe with it. Overall, it was just okay.
A young witch with uncontrollable magic and a young man whose magic hurts him every time he uses it. What happens when the two of them work together?
This book was so adorable. The characters were beautifully written and fully fleshed out. The world-building was amazing. The magic system was super interesting. This book was just so interesting. If you love cozy fantasy definitely give this a read.

Ren has never been accepted by the Reapers for her mixed blood and now she has made her last mistake. Ren rushes off to Japan with her half brother hoping to find the mother that gave her away and finally find her place in the world. But maybe wherever she lands they will only see what they want to see.
I really wanted to like this book. I think that the premise is really interesting especially since it combines different death mythologies. The world was built extremely well. I could understand the rules of the worlds that Ren found herself in as she learned them. The world never seemed to be hard to understand to me.
The problem that I had with the story was the characters. I really enjoyed Ren's little brother who was the only character that I though was fully fleshed out. He seemed to have real depth and reasons behind his feeling that he could articulate in a decent manner. Ren on the other hand seemed very flat to me. She never really grew throughout the entire piece and only changed due to her brother after betraying him. Ren's reasons for doing what she did just seemed extremely surface level to me. I wanted to dig into the deeper reasons behind her thoughts and feelings but that just never happened. Our other main character Hiro was just kinda gross.
The romance felt forced to me. I understood by our male love interest loved Ren but I really couldn't understand why Ren felt anything for him. She immediately shows him trust after having been surrounded by untrustworthy people her whole life. It eventually gets to the point where she trusts a love interest she has known for a couple of weeks more than her brother without any apparent reason.
Finally, I think that this book should have been split into two books. I think that if we spent a whole book on Ren's life with the Reapers and then running from the Reapers ending with Japan followed by a whole book of Ren's adventures in Japan it would have worked better. I think this would have allowed the characters to really breathe and to let all the amazing plot points be fully explained instead of being glassed over.
Overall, I really wanted to like this book but the characters were a bit of a let down. Still a fun read overall.

Daphne is chosen by Artemis to get information and relay that information to Apollo. That is all but when Daphne finds out what exactly is wrong with Olympus, she decides that she is going to help. Whether it kills her or not.
I really don't know where to start with this book. None of the characters are all that interesting. Throughout the entire book Daphne is trying to be a Spartan but is told that she can't be. Then she is told that she is something much greater but everyone refuses to tell her what that is. So she's basically stuck in this kind of limbo where no one knows what or who she is, not even the reader. Then all of the supporting characters around her were very flat and didn't seem to care about her whatsoever. There are main character deaths that just really lack impact. This whole book I was waiting for Daphne to finally come into her powers and found out who she was but that never happened. It was kind of a bummer.
The writing was really excellent though. The world building was also nice but the characters were just lack luster in my opinion. If you love greek mythology definitely give it a read, if that isn't your genre I would skip it.
Marlinchen has never disobeyed her father, has never left the house. That is until one night her two sisters convince her to go with them to the ballet where she sees Sevas and her whole life changes.
This is a book about grief, family, abuse, love, obsession, possessiveness, and control. Saying that, I would 100% look up the trigger warnings before reading this book because it is dark.
The characters in this book are beautifully written. I don't have the words to describe how much I love these characters. The only way that I could probably communicate it would be to have you read the book. The same with the setting. Honestly this book was just beautifully written and I think that everyone should read it.
This dark fractured fairytale with capture your heart and tear it to pieces. But check the trigger warnings first.
Strange is the name given to all orphans. But Lazlo is a little different than the other orphans. He is a dreamer. Sarai is also an orphan or at least her mother is dead and her father doesn't know that she is still alive. Now Lazlo and Sarai's paths are going to cross in the most heart wrenching way.
I really enjoyed the characters and their motivations. They were extremely diverse and well written. Though there were obviously characters who were wrong, I could understand all, or most, of the characters. The setting and the magic is super interesting as well.
The only thing that I really didn't totally enjoy was how quickly the romance occurred. It just felt a little rushed to me. There were definitely also loose threads at the end of the novel but the sort of makes sense since this is only the first book.
If you love fantasy and a sickly sweet romance, give this one a read.
