We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting it through our compliance with this privacy policy ("Policy"). This Policy describes how Squid Syndicate Co. ("we", "us" or "our") handles information in connection with the SocialsTags mobile application for Android (the "Application"), and the choices you have about that information.

SocialsTags is a hashtag library that runs entirely on your phone. It has no account system, contacts no server of ours, and transmits nothing about you or your use of it anywhere. Please read this Policy carefully. If you do not agree with any part of it, please do not use the Application.

Collection of information

We do not collect any personal information.

The Application has no registration or login, no analytics or crash reporting service, no advertising software, and no component that sends information to us or to any third party. We operate no servers in connection with the Application and therefore receive no data from it at all.

The Application stores the following on your device only, in storage private to the Application:

• Custom tag sets — the titles and text you choose to create.

• Favourites — which tag sets you have marked with a heart.

This content is created by you, never leaves your device, and is not visible to us. We cannot read it, retrieve it or restore it.

Clipboard

When you tap a copy button, the Application writes the selected tag set to your device clipboard so that you can paste it. It does this only in response to your tap. The Application never reads the contents of your clipboard.

Opening Instagram

The "copy and open Instagram" action checks whether the Instagram application is installed on your device and, if it is, asks Android to open it. The result of that check decides only whether to open Instagram or to show you a message. It is not recorded and not transmitted.

Permissions

The Application declares a small number of standard Android permissions inherited from the frameworks it is built on. It does not use them to gather information about you, and it does not request access to your camera, microphone, contacts, photos or location.

Privacy of children

The Application is not directed at children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Because the Application collects no personal information from any user, it collects none from children. If you are a parent or guardian and you believe your child has provided personal information in connection with the Application, please contact us using the details below. Content a child may have typed into the Application is stored only on the device, and can be removed by deleting the individual entries or by uninstalling the Application.

Use and processing of collected information

As we collect no personal information, we do not use or process any personal information about you.

The content stored on your device serves one purpose: displaying your saved tag sets and favourites inside the Application so that you can copy and manage them. That processing happens entirely on your device. We do not profile you, build advertising audiences, train any model on your content, or use it for any purpose other than making the Application work.

Disclosure of information

We do not sell, rent, trade or otherwise disclose your information, because we do not hold any.

We have no access to the content stored on your device, so we cannot disclose it to any third party, including in response to a legal request. Any such request would have to be directed to you, or to the operator of your device or backup service.

If your device is set to back up application data, through Android's backup service or your manufacturer's equivalent, your saved tag sets may be included in that backup. Those backups are handled by the provider you have chosen and are governed by that provider's privacy policy, not by this one.

Retention of information

We retain no information about you, as we collect none.

The tag sets and favourites you create stay on your device until you remove them. You are in full control of this data and can delete it at any time by:

• deleting individual custom tag sets inside the Application;

• removing favourites by tapping the heart again;

• clearing the Application's storage in your device settings; or

• uninstalling the Application, which removes all of its stored data.

Once removed, this data cannot be recovered by us or by you.

Links to other resources

The Application can open the Instagram application on your device, and its store listing may link to external pages such as its Google Play page.

We do not control those services and are not responsible for their content or their privacy practices. When you leave the Application, the privacy policy and terms of the service you move to govern your activity there. We encourage you to read the privacy policy of any service you use.

SocialsTags is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Instagram or Meta Platforms, Inc.

Information security

Because the Application transmits no data, your information is not exposed to the risks that come with network transmission or server storage. There is no account of yours for us to lose, and no database of ours for an attacker to breach.

Your saved content is protected by the security of your own device. Android keeps it in an area private to the Application, which other applications cannot read under normal circumstances. Anyone with physical or unlocked access to your device, or with administrative access to it, may be able to view that content. We therefore recommend keeping your device locked, kept up to date, and protected by a passcode or biometric lock.

No method of electronic storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Data breach

We hold no personal information about you, so a security incident affecting us could not expose your personal information.

In the unlikely event that we become aware of a security issue affecting the Application itself, we will investigate it promptly, publish a corrected version through Google Play, and, where required by applicable law, notify affected users and the relevant supervisory authority. Because we have no way to contact you directly, such a notice would be given through the Application's store listing and this page.

Changes and amendments

We may update this Policy from time to time, for example to reflect changes to the Application or to legal requirements. When we do, we will revise the effective date at the top of this page and publish the updated version.

Where a change is significant, we will make reasonable efforts to highlight it, such as by noting it in the Application's store listing. Your continued use of the Application after an updated Policy takes effect constitutes your acceptance of the changes. We encourage you to review this Policy periodically.

Acceptance of this policy

By downloading, installing or using the Application, you acknowledge that you have read this Policy and that you agree to its terms. If you do not agree to this Policy, you should not use the Application.
