Square Race is a free-to-play application with optional in-app purchases. Most of its
functionality — races, the level editor, your unlocks, and your Gems balance — runs and stays
entirely on your device. This policy explains the data that leaves the device and why.
Data Collection:
The app itself does not collect account information, and does not require you to create an
account or sign in. Your progression, unlocks, cosmetics, Gems balance, and any custom levels
you build in the level editor are stored locally on your device and are not transmitted to the
developer.
The app uses the following third-party services, which do collect data as described below:
Google Firebase Analytics
Used to understand how the app is used in aggregate (e.g. which tracks are played, how races
end, which shop items are bought, how often the level editor is used) so we can improve
reliability and the core experience. This collects app interaction data and device/app
identifiers (such as a Firebase-generated app instance identifier). This data is pseudonymous,
it is not linked to your name, email, or other directly-identifying information collected by
us, since we do not collect that information in the first place. The developer has access to
this aggregated data through the Firebase console.
Google Firebase Crashlytics
Used to receive crash and error reports so we can find and fix bugs. This collects crash logs
and diagnostic information (e.g. device model, OS version, the state the app was in when it
crashed). The developer has access to this data through the Firebase console.
Both services are operated by Google and governed by Google's Privacy Policy:
https://policies.google.com/privacy
and Firebase's terms: https://firebase.google.com/terms
Advertising:
The app displays interstitial and rewarded video ads provided by Google AdMob. Google may
collect and process data as described in Google's Privacy Policy:
https://policies.google.com/privacy
The developer does not have access to or control over ad-targeting data collected by Google
through AdMob.
In-App Purchases:
The app offers optional in-app purchases of Gems, the in-game currency, processed entirely by
Google Play Billing. Payment details (card number, billing address, etc.) are handled by Google
Play and are never seen or stored by the developer. The developer only receives confirmation
that a purchase completed, so the corresponding Gems can be granted to your local save.
If you are located in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, you will
be shown a consent form before ads and analytics data collection begin, allowing you to choose
whether to consent.
Children's Privacy:
This app is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from
children under 13.
Data Retention:
Data collected via Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics is retained according to Google's default
Firebase retention settings and is not sold or shared with any party other than Google/Firebase
as our service provider.
Your Choices:
You can limit ads personalization through your device's ad settings (Google Settings > Ads, on
most Android devices). If you are located in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or
Switzerland, you can change your consent choice at any time from the "Privacy Options" button on
the app's main menu.
Permissions:
The app requests the following permissions, added automatically by the third-party services
above rather than requested directly by our own code:
Internet, network state — to load ads, sync purchases, and send analytics/crash data
Billing — to process in-app Gems purchases through Google Play
Advertising ID — used by Google AdMob to serve, and where consented, personalize ads
Wake lock, foreground service, install referrer — standard requirements of the Google Play
Billing / AdMob SDKs
None of these permissions are used by the developer to collect or transmit personal data beyond
what is described above.
