If you are required to write an essay and deliver a speech based on your current promotion, or you have been asked to write a speech, utilize the following guidelines in order to best succeed.
All speeches, and essays will be graded utilizing the CAP speech and essay critique form, found here: CAP Speech and Essay Critique Form.
Essays will be strictly graded for sentence structure, grammar, punctation, and syntax, based upon your grade in CAP, and your grade in school. There is no specific essay format as long as desired word count is met.
Every time you write a speech for CAP you should draft a Talking Paper. (TALKING PAPERS ARE NOT REQUIRED FOR PROMOTION SPEECHES, but are highly suggested) Talking paper outlines can be found here: CAP Talking Paper Template
Once you have submitted your essay and it has been graded with a pass, you will then need to utilize the Test and LFF request form to request a date to deliver your speech. That form can be found here:
All Essays, and talking papers, can be sent to TFO Emerson for grading. henrie.emerson@cawgcap.org.
