AESA - Aerospace Education Summer Academy - A summer activity hosted in California Wing.
BCS - Basic Cadet School - A weekend long school hosted regularly throughout California, intended for very new cadets.
CAP - Civil Air Patrol - The Organization to which you belong.
CAPM - Civil Air Patrol Manual - A publication that includes instructions, and visiual depictions.
CAPP - Civil Air Patrol Pamphlet - A publication that is a guideline.
CAPR - Civil Air Patrol Regualtion - A publication that acts as law for CAP members.
CAWG - California Wing - Each state in the U.S. is a wing, and California is the state in which our wing resides.
CPP - Cadet Protection Program - The CAP Policy that protects cadets and sets guidelines for adult/cadet interaction. CAPR 60-2
ES - Emergency Services
FLT - Flight - The lowest level of organizational command. Most cadets are assigned to a flight.
GSF - Great Start Flight - The orientation unit cadets first join to learn how to become a cadet.
GTM - Ground Team Member - A member of a Search and Rescue team, requires national qualification.
IAW - In Accordance With - a term used when referencing a CAP Publication.
ILP - Integrated Leadership Program - The CAWG Supplemnetal leadership training. Occurs on Weekends. See BCS, NCOS.
LFF - Leadership Feedback Forum - a session where cadets meet with members of the leadership and discuss thier leadership progress so far, and give and recieve direct feedback.
MFR - Memorandum for Record - A CAP publication used for inter unit communication and policy.
MSF - Mission Support Flight - The unit where all members of the support staff are assigned.
NCO - Non-Commissioned Officer - A Sergeant, A cadet who is in the begging phases of leadership, first line management.
NCOS - Non-Commissioned Officer School - A weekend long leadership school for cadets hosted throughout CA.
NCSA - National Cadet Special Activity - A summer or winter program that gives cadets advanced training and amazing learning oppurtunities. Encampment graduation required.
NHQ - National Head Quarters - The highest level of Command in CAP.
NLT - No Later Than - A term put before deadlines to make orders clear and concise
OPORD - Operation Orders - Schedules, or other instructions pertaining to a mission, training, or meeting night.
PCR - Pacific Region - CAP is broken up into several geographic regions. Each regions houses several states, or Wings. California Wing is apart of Pacific Region.
RESUB - Resubmit - when a paper is submitted and doesnt meet the neceseary requirments to achieves its objective, the paper must be corrected and resubmitted
SDA - Staff Duty Analysis - Part of the Cadet Officer promotion program.
SQ - Squadron.
SNCO - Senior Non-Commissioned Officer - A Cadet who is in the final promotions on the NCO grades.
SOP - Standard Operating Procedures - a list of rules that outline how a group of people will function.
UNODIR - Unless Otherwise Directed - You will continue to operate under the same orders and conditions Unless Otherwise Directed.
UOD - Uniform of the Day - The uniform worn during that working day.
USAF - United States Air Force.
Alternate - The New Cadet Alternate Uniform
Cadet Enlisted - Cadets in the Learning and Leadership Phases of the Cadet program. Follower and low - mid level managers
Cadet Officer - A cadet who is in the Command and Executive Phases of the cadet program. Mid - Executive level managers.
Class A - The Serive Dress Uniform combination to include the Service coat.
Class B - The Service Dress Uniform to include the long or short sleeve shirt with no service coat.
Encampment - A week long leadership school all cadets must attend before the are allowed to attend most NCSA's and before they are allowed to promote to Cadet Officer
