WHY POLISHING IS NECESSARY
Polishing is a necessary component of any detailing program for automobile aficionados. Polishing, on the other hand, is sometimes overlooked and overshadowed by waxing and sealants for the majority of car owners, despite the fact that it is by far the most useful step in keeping the pristine appearance of your automobile's paint finish.
Even with today's ultra-protective ceramic coatings, a perfectly polished paint finish is critical due to the ceramic coating's extended life. Due to the fact that the finish will be sealed for several years, it must be in good condition and carefully polished. Nothing is more frustrating than sealing in a cloudy, oxidized, and swirled paint finish.
Unlike automobile waxes and coatings, which operate as a shield to protect the paint surface from environmental influences, polishes are the true labor force in the process of paintwork care, maintenance, and enhancement. Polishes help to maintain and extend the life of paint by removing dirt that is too stubborn to remove with regular washing; two, oxidized paint (aged paint); three, smoothing out surface scratches and swirl marks (which are circular surface scratches); and four, conditioning the paintwork to prevent it from drying, cracking, and peeling. With this in mind, it's simple to see why polishing should be a significant part of your total car care regimen.
The advantages of polishing greatly outweigh those of simply waxing. While they function best in conjunction with one another, polishes continue to be the workhorse of paintwork maintenance, removing worn paint, restoring depth and shine, and minimizing or eliminating the appearance of surface defects such as surface scratches and the dreaded swirl mark. Additionally, it prepares the surface for a layer of wax.
