Spyridon (Spyros) G. Tarantos

I received my Diploma in Mechanical Engineering from the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA) in 2017 and my Ph.D. in Automatic Control, Bioengineering and Operations Research from Sapienza University of Rome in 2023. I have been a research fellow in the Department of Computer, Control and Management Engineering of Sapienza University of Rome, affiliated with the DIAG Robotics Lab.  

Currently, I am a Post-Doctoral Associate at New York University of Abu Dhabi, affiliated with the Field Robotics Laboratory.

My research interests lie in the area of robotics and control with an emphasis on real-time motion generation. Specifically, my research interests include: (i) mobile robot navigation in dynamic environments, (ii) generation of dynamically aggressive motions for mobile manipulators, (iii) autonomous exploration of confined underwater environments, and (iv) underwater mobile manipulation and interaction.
