Volunteers
Volunteers are essential to keeping things running smoothly and ensuring a great season for our players. There are many ways to get involved, including photography, website support, working the concession stand, helping with the 50/50 raffle at home games, and assisting with fundraising events.
We will also need help with end-of-season banquet tasks such as decorating, menu planning, gifts, invitations, bookkeeping, program creation, slideshow preparation, and table setup.
You may choose to manage a specific task or help as needed. Any time or talent you can offer is greatly appreciated. Please contact one of the captains’ parents if you’re able to volunteer. Thank you for supporting the team!

Does Arlington Spy Ponders have a mascot?
Yes, in 2024, the school introduced "Cyrus the Mastodon" as the official mascot, honoring a 42,000-year-old mastodon tusk found in the pond in 1959. Read about their creation HERE. Look out for Cyrus at pep rallies and sporting events throughout the academic year. Go Ponders!
The Spy Ponders proudly wear Arlington High School’s colors: Cardinal Red (Maroon), Gray, and White.
The name “Spy Ponders” is derived from Spy Pond, a significant historical, cultural, and geographical landmark in Arlington. The term was first recorded in 1867, when the town changed its name from West Cambridge to Arlington following the Civil War, in honor of the soldiers buried at Arlington National Cemetery. At that time, “Spy Ponders” referred to the ice cutters and farmers who lived and worked in the area surrounding the pond.
