Dr. Karl Spuhler earned his PhD in medical physics at Stony Brook University in 2019. At SBU, he published a number of works relating to the applications of machine learning in modern medicine. At the same time, he completed rigorous clinical education and practicum, which he continued during his residency at NYU Langone in Manhattan. During residency, Dr. Spuhler developed expertise in the wide-ranging technologies offered by one of New York's largest medical systems. At the same time, he continued his productive research interests, publishing manuscripts determining the suitability of LINAC-mounted CBCT images for machine learning studies, being awarded a second-place Sal Vacirca Young Investigator Award at the RAMPS 2020 Symposium, and acting as reviewer for a number of journals.
