ASSISTANT PROFESSOR
Dr. Shail Pandey
Department of Physics, SVNIT Surat
Dr. Shail Pandey is a plasma physicist with expertise in experimental microwave plasma discharges and their diagnostics. She received her PhD from the Department of Physics, IIT Kanpur, in 2015. Before joining SVNIT Surat in 2019, she served in the Department of Physics, NIT Jamshedpur, as an ad hoc faculty, followed by a DST INSPIRE Faculty.
Dr. Pandey's research spans both fundamental and applied plasma physics, with a focus on microwave-generated plasmas, plasma diagnostics, and plasma-surface interactions. She has extensive experience in the design, instrumentation, and time-resolved analysis of various types of homemade plasma diagnostic probes. In addition, she conducts simulations to complement the experimental results. Her current research interests include plasma applications for clean energy, space technology, and communication technologies. She has also led and contributed to externally funded research projects supported by national agencies.
