• sprtoybat Ear buds — biggest strength: a genuine 30-hour total playtime story (5 hours per charge, 5 recharges from the 400mAh case), IPX7 water resistance and flexible silicone ear hooks that hold the buds in place while you move.
• sprtoybat Ear buds — biggest trade-off: they sit inside your ear canal and have no noise control of any kind, so you're sealed off from traffic, announcements and the people around you.
• ZGUKJ Open Ear — biggest strength: an open-ear design plus an ENC noise-cancelling mic and a physical mute button, which is exactly what a hands-free talker needs.
• ZGUKJ Open Ear — biggest trade-off: the battery is a single 100mAh cell with up to 12 hours of music time and roughly 6–10 hours of operation — no charging case, so you're charging more often.
• Pick sprtoybat Ear buds if you want an in-ear sport pair you can share, pocket and forget about for days.
• Pick ZGUKJ Open Ear if you spend your day on calls, on the road, or moving through traffic and need your ears open.
The sprtoybat Ear buds (model Q35-R) are a classic true-wireless sport setup: two buds, a charging case, and a design that assumes you'll be sweating. The ear hooks are flexible silicone, and the box includes three sizes of eartips, so the fit is meant to be dialled in rather than accepted as-is. Each bud weighs only 6 grams, and the whole kit — buds plus case — comes in at 50 grams. That's the kind of weight you genuinely stop noticing, whether it's clipped to a waistband or rattling around in a jacket pocket.
What makes these a sport pick rather than a desk pick is the IPX7 rating. That's splash-and-rain territory — not swim-proof, but fine for sweat, drizzle and a water bottle mishap. Bluetooth 5.3 with a 15-metre range handles the usual phone-in-a-bag situation, and touch panels on each bud cover play/pause, volume, calls and voice assistants.
Who should buy them? Runners, hikers, gym-goers and anyone who wants an in-ear pair they can hand one bud to a friend or partner. Who should skip them? Anyone who needs to hear their surroundings, and anyone who wants active noise cancellation — the spec sheet lists noise control as "None," so the seal is your only isolation.
ZGUKJ Open Ear: Who It's For
The ZGUKJ Open Ear (model LK12-Black) is a different animal entirely. It's an open-ear headset, meaning the drivers rest outside the ear canal instead of plugging it. The brand's own framing is blunt about why that matters: less ear pressure during long wear. At 21 grams, it's built for people who keep a headset on for an entire shift rather than a 45-minute run.
The specification that tells you the most is the mic. There's an ENC noise-cancelling microphone designed to cut background noise and lift your voice, plus a physical mute button that mutes you while you keep hearing the other person. That combination — open ear, ENC mic, hardware mute — is a work-call and dispatch toolkit. Truckers, drivers, remote workers and anyone on video calls will recognise it immediately, and the built-in controls cover play/pause, volume, track skipping, call answer and end, and voice assistant access.
Connectivity is Bluetooth 5.4 with up to 10 metres of range, and the dual device connection is the quiet hero here: pair your phone and your laptop simultaneously and switch between them without re-pairing. Audio comes from 15.4mm dynamic drivers with SBC and AAC codec support and a 20Hz–20kHz frequency response — large drivers for clear speech and decent music, tuned for clarity rather than thump.
Who should buy it? Anyone who talks for a living or drives for a living, and runners or cyclists who refuse to block out traffic. Who should skip it? If you want deep bass and total immersion in a noisy gym, an open-ear design is the wrong tool.
Side-by-Side: Which Should You Choose?
• Best for battery life → sprtoybat Ear buds. 30 hours total with the case versus up to 12 hours from ZGUKJ's single battery.
• Best for calls, meetings and dispatch → ZGUKJ Open Ear. The ENC mic, hardware mute button and dual-device pairing are purpose-built for it.
• Best for running, hiking and sweaty workouts → sprtoybat Ear buds. IPX7 water resistance plus silicone ear hooks that grip.
• Best for awareness and all-day wear → ZGUKJ Open Ear. Open-ear placement and a 21g build mean less ear pressure over a long shift.
• Best for commuting or cycling in traffic → ZGUKJ Open Ear. You keep hearing what's around you, which is the whole point of the design.
• Best for sharing one bud → sprtoybat Ear buds. Two independent buds and a case make it easy to hand one over.
• Best for a bigger, more immersive sound → sprtoybat Ear buds. Sealed in-ear fit with 10mm drivers and a bass-forward equalizer.
• Best for water resistance → sprtoybat Ear buds. IPX7 is the only water rating in this comparison; ZGUKJ's sheet lists none.
In my opinion, I'd buy the sprtoybat Ear buds if my priority is movement, sweat and not thinking about charging — the 30-hour case, IPX7 rating and 6-gram buds make it the more versatile everyday pair for most people. But if my day is calls, driving and staying aware of my surroundings, I'd buy the ZGUKJ Open Ear without hesitating, because the ENC mic, mute button and open-ear fit solve a problem the sprtoybat simply doesn't address. Two different jobs, two different answers.
For calls, yes. The ZGUKJ has an ENC noise-cancelling mic, a physical mute button and dual-device pairing with Bluetooth 5.4. The sprtoybat has a noise-cancelling mic and Bluetooth 5.3, but no mute button and no open-ear awareness.
Up to 5 hours per bud, and the 400mAh charging case recharges them about five times for up to 30 hours total. The case charges over Type-C in roughly 1.5 hours.
That's its design intent. It weighs 21 grams and sits outside the ear canal to reduce pressure, but the battery tops out at 12 hours of music and around 6–10 hours of use, so you'll recharge during a long shift.
The ZGUKJ Open Ear. Its open-ear fit leaves your ear canal clear, whereas the sprtoybat Ear buds seal inside your ear with no noise-control features to let the outside in.
