Harmony Varner is an agricultural scientist with a passion for helping land managers make informed decisions around sustainability. She grew up helping out in her mother's abundant backyard vegetable garden in Tulsa, Oklahoma, where she fell in love with growing things and first decided to pursue a career in agriculture. Since then, she has had hands-on positions at plant nurseries, in greenhouses, and on small farms growing crops and raising animals including goats, sheep, chickens, rabbits, and horses.Â
Harmony has a bachelor's degree in Organic and Sustainable Agriculture and a master's degree in Soil Science, both from Washington State University, where her work focused on organic waste and natural resource management. As a professional she worked as a Carbon Farm Planner under the Partnership for Climate Smart Cotton and Wool in New York State and as a technician on an organic forage project at the Pennsylvania State University.
She started Sprout and Spindle Consulting in 2026 to connect her love of agricultural science to the land managers who needed it the most.
