Privacy Policy
Effective date: 6 May 2026 · Last updated: 7 August 2026
SprintBase ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you use the SprintBase mobile application ("App"), how we use it, and your rights regarding that information. It applies to both the iOS and Android versions of the App.
1. Information We Collect
SprintBase does not require you to create an account or provide any personal information such as your name or email address.
We collect or process the following limited information:
Device identifier — a randomly generated ID stored locally on your device. This is used solely to enforce daily usage limits (video analyses and AI coaching sessions). It contains no personal information and cannot be traced back to you.
Athlete profile information — optional details you enter during onboarding or in Athlete Stats, including age, gender, height, weight, experience level, primary events, and training goals. This data is stored locally on your device. Height may be sent to our analysis server during sprint analysis to improve feedback accuracy; we do not retain it after the request completes. Other profile fields may be sent to our AI server to personalise coaching and Athlete Hub responses and are not stored beyond the duration of the request.
Sprint videos — video frames you submit for analysis are transmitted to our server and then to Google's Gemini AI service for processing. We do not store your video content after the analysis response is returned.
AI Coach and Athlete Hub messages — messages you send to the AI Sprint Coach or Athlete Hub (covering sprint coaching, nutrition guidance, gym coaching, and recovery advice) are transmitted to our server and processed by Google's Gemini AI service. Conversation history is stored locally on your device only and is not retained on our servers.
Camera and video access — the App requests permission to use your device camera and microphone solely to record sprint videos for analysis. We do not record audio in isolation, stream your camera feed, or access your camera at any time other than when you actively initiate a recording within the App.
Photo and media library access — the App may request permission to read from your photo/media library when you choose to import an existing video for sprint analysis. The App requests permission to write to your photo/media library when you choose to save a training plan image or a sprint score card. We do not read your photo library for any other purpose, and no image or video content is transmitted to our servers as part of these save operations.
Subscription information — if you subscribe to SprintBase Premium, your subscription status is managed by RevenueCat and your platform's app store (Apple App Store or Google Play). We receive only your subscription entitlement status, not your payment details.
2. Permissions We Request
The following device permissions may be requested by the App. Each permission is requested only when you attempt to use the relevant feature, and you may decline at any time.
Camera — required to record sprint videos for AI analysis. Requested when you choose "Record a Sprint" in the Analyse tab.
Microphone — included as part of camera permission on most platforms when recording video. The App does not capture, process, or transmit audio content.
Photo / Media Library (read) — required on some Android versions to import an existing video file for sprint analysis. On iOS, this is handled by the system media picker without requiring broad library access.
Photo / Media Library (write) — required to save training plan images and sprint score cards to your device. Requested only when you tap "Save to Photos" within the App.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information described above only to:
Provide and improve the sprint video analysis feature
Provide the AI Sprint Coach and personalised training plan features
Provide the Athlete Hub (nutrition, gym coaching, and recovery guidance)
Personalise coaching and Athlete Hub responses using your athlete profile
Save training plan images and sprint score cards to your photo library when you request it
Enforce daily usage limits to ensure fair access to the service
Manage your Premium subscription status
We do not sell, rent, trade, or share your information with third parties for marketing or advertising purposes.
4. Third-Party Services
SprintBase uses the following third-party services, each governed by their own privacy policies:
Google Gemini AI — processes video frames, AI Coach messages, and Athlete Hub messages to generate AI responses. See Google's Privacy Policy at privacy.google.com.
RevenueCat — manages in-app subscription purchases and entitlements. See RevenueCat's Privacy Policy at revenuecat.com/privacy.
Apple App Store / Google Play — processes subscription payments depending on your platform. See Apple's Privacy Policy at apple.com/privacy and Google's Privacy Policy at policies.google.com/privacy.
5. Data Storage and Security
The majority of your data — conversation history, athlete profile information, analysis results, and usage counts — is stored locally on your device using AsyncStorage and is never transmitted to or retained on our servers beyond the immediate request.
Device identifiers used for quota tracking are stored on our server in a record containing only the anonymous ID and a daily usage count. No other information is associated with these records.
We take reasonable technical measures to protect the data we handle. However, no transmission over the internet is 100% secure. We recommend keeping your device software up to date.
6. Data Retention and Deletion
Because the App does not require account creation or personal identifiers, there is no personal data profile associated with you on our servers.
Locally stored data — all data stored on your device (conversation history, athlete profile, analysis results, usage counts) can be cleared at any time by uninstalling the App.
Server-side data — anonymous device quota records are the only data we hold on our servers. These records contain no personal information and are automatically purged on a rolling basis. If you wish to request deletion of your quota record, contact us with your device identifier (visible in the App's Settings screen) at sprintbasesupport@gmail.com and we will delete it promptly.
AI-processed data — video frames and messages sent to Google Gemini AI are processed in transit and are not retained by us after the response is returned. For Google's data retention practices, refer to Google's Privacy Policy.
7. Children's Privacy
SprintBase is not directed at children under the age of 13 (or the applicable minimum digital age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at sprintbasesupport@gmail.com and we will delete it promptly.
8. Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have the right to access, correct, restrict, or delete personal data we hold about you. Because SprintBase does not collect personal information tied to your identity, these rights apply primarily to your locally stored data (which you control directly) and to the anonymous quota record on our server.
To exercise any privacy rights or to request deletion of server-side data, contact us at sprintbasesupport@gmail.com.
9. California Residents
If you are a California resident, you have rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), including the right to know what personal information is collected, to request deletion of personal information, and to opt out of the sale of personal information. SprintBase does not sell personal information. For requests, contact sprintbasesupport@gmail.com.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the App after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
