Fathers Day at SPS
we need your help!
we need your help!
Father's Day is coming up, and the P&C has three events running over the next couple of weeks: a working bee to get the Father's Day stall ready, the stall itself, and a Bunnings sausage sizzle. All three run on volunteer power.
You don't need to commit to a full shift for any of them. If you can only spare an hour, tell us when you sign up and we'll fit you in around it. Pick whichever event suits you, or all three, and let us know when you're free.
🗓️ Sunday 30th August, 3pm–5pm
📍Covered seating area behind the canteen, school (enter via the Burns Rd gate)
We're getting hands-on to prepare this year's Father's Day stall: filling lolly and chocolate bags, mixing up spice blends, and concocting room sprays. It's a relaxed afternoon making the gifts kids will pick out for their dads, grandads and other special people in their lives later in the week.
Afternoon tea is provided, with gluten-free options available, and Jared's running some games to keep kids entertained if you're bringing them along.

🗓️ Saturday 5 September, 8am–4pm
📍Bunnings Valley Heights
Grab your tongs and get set for a day of flipping snags and frying onions at Valley Heights Bunnings. Come for an hour or stay for the day, any time you give helps (and enjoy a post-sizzle libation at the brewery next door).
We need help with:😉
Cooking on the barbecue
Serving and plating up orders
Taking payment / minding the cash tin
Restocking bread, onions, sauce and drinks
Packing down and cleaning the grill at the end of the day
Sign up through the form above and let us know what time works for you.
🗓️ Wednesday 2 September, 8:30am–2pm
📍School
Setup starts around 8.30am if you’re keen to help. The stall opens at 9:30am and we'll keep going until every class has had a turn, aiming to be wrapped up before school lunch at 1:15pm.
Help is welcome any time from school drop-off until about 2pm, when we pack away whatever's left. You don't need to stay the whole day. Even a short slot helps.
We need help with:
Setting up stock before the stall opens
Helping kids choose and pay for their gifts
Recording layby purchases
Packing up afterwards
Expect a slightly chaotic, genuinely fun day watching kids get excited about the gifts they've picked out.
