Parent University- Leon County Schools officially opened their “Parent University” platform today.  This site provides parent resources on a variety of topics, including device set up, Canvas tutorials, and strategies to motivate students for the upcoming school year.  The information can be found here LCS Parent University and we encourage all parents to review the site throughout the year as new information and video tutorials will be added. 

Things to Practice at Home:  Of course, these don't have to be perfect, but these are the skills we will be working on and trying to master prior to Kindergarten. 

1. Recognizing All Uppercase and Lowercase Letters

2.  Identify numbers 0-20

3.  Rote Count to 30

4.   Identify 7 Basic Shapes (Circle, Square, Triangle, Diamond, Heart, Star, Rectangle)

5.  Identify 11 Common Colors (Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Purple, Pink, White, Black, Brown, Gray)

6. Write First Name

7. Draw a Self Portrait  (head, body, arms, legs, face with details, hands, and feet)
