Stephen Hannan is the Managing Member and Founder of Springer Bridge Associates, LLC. Mr. Hannan has an extensive track record solving liquidity issues, and developing and negotiating capital and credit solutions for both private equity portfolio and public companies. He has been an advisor to stressed and troubled companies and various groups of stakeholders across a broad range of domestic and foreign industries. Mr. Hannan has managed significant credits at bulge-bracket investment banks and at an activist special opportunities investment fund. Mr. Hannan has a strong and diverse analytical skillset in accounting, corporate finance, credit and fixed income markets that have provided a strong foundation for his roles as both a senior risk officer and restructuring advisor. Mr. Hannan was previously at Evercore Partners from 2009 through 2020 serving as a Senior Managing Director of the firm’s Restructuring and Debt Advisory Group. He took a leading role on behalf of clients in:

  • Raising new debt and equity capital for complex and/or highly leveraged situations;

  • Structuring and executing financing-driven recapitalizations;

  • Providing M&A advice in the context of distressed or troubled companies;

  • Developing, negotiating and executing prepackaged, pre-arranged, and free-fall Chapter 11 restructurings; and

  • Negotiating covenant waivers and amendments.

Prior to joining Evercore, Mr. Hannan served as a Managing Director and Chief Credit Officer of Black Diamond Capital Management, and was a senior credit officer at Lehman Brothers and Morgan Stanley responsible for approving and managing the firms’ high yield credit exposures. Mr. Hannan began his career as an auditor at Price Waterhouse and later joined JP Morgan as a Global Credit Loan Officer and Interest Rate/FX Derivative Marketer. Mr. Hannan has an M.B.A. in Finance/International Business from Columbia University and a B.S. in Accounting from Fairfield University. He has been a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) since 1984.
