1. Classes will be recorded and placed online when possible (except where noted).

2. Two classes will generally be held in the Oak Grove (breakout) classroom. When you enter, you will be in the main session, where a traffic director will help you get to the class you would like to attend, or you can choose yourself (if you have the updated version of zoom).

3. For the zoom rooms (Dragon's Lair and Oak Grove) you will need to have Zoom. Please make sure you have the most up to date version of zoom on your device beforehand, here. We do have one class in Twitch.

A discussion of different types of siege engine including principles of construction and employment.

Biography: Frank ‘Avi’ Avilia has been playing Amtgard in Winter’s Edge since 2005 and has been interested in siegecraft since the beginning. He began a serious study of mechanical artillery in 2015 and constructed his first functional siege engine in 2016. Since then he has built numerous siege engines of various types. He is currently sitting on 10 Owls for his work in artillery and armor.

In mundane life, he is a mathematician and historian. He has published two books, The Ancient Artillery of Saalburg and Rudolf Schneider’s The Artillery of the Middle Ages, on the topic of mechanical artillery. He likes bad puns and good beer.

This class will discuss the fundamentals of Amtgard fighting for non-male players, including stance, grip, movement, basic shots, and basic blocking. Physical differences affect Amtgard fighting, and we'll discuss how to adapt what's usually taught to your own needs. Designed for beginners, but any player is welcome to attend!
