We hope that you and your family are enjoying good health and managing during this unsettled time.
We've received some information from the special education office about resources and plans going forward. Please review the 6 points below:
- Students will have outreach and google classroom time with their teachers. This is not mandatory for students but strongly suggested to provide learning opportunities. If you are not contacted by your child's teacher regarding classroom time by March 27th, please contact the special education office. Parent concerns can be sent to specialeducation@bostonpublicschools.org and cc bostonspedpac411@gmail.com.
- Annual Review and some OR and REs will be held virtually if the parent agrees. There is more on this to come.
- BPS Special Education is continuously updating a Special Education Resource Site. (see link at the bottom of this post. You may have to be logged into your student's BPS Google account to access this. Email or DM us for a direct link if you have issues)
- If students do not have access to laptops or you require internet access, please don't hesitate to request technology resources here: bostonpublicschools.org/laptop.
- You should soon receive a letter from DESE along with a letter from BPS with further clarification.
- Currently, administrators and staff are working remotely, but specialeducation@bostonpublicschools.org is being monitored throughout the day.
- We will pass on any information we receive as it comes in.
