Spray Can Stories is a vibrant, character-driven documentary that explores the legacy, impact, and ongoing evolution of Bronx graffiti culture through the lives and voices of two of its most influential figures—BG183 and Nicer of the legendary TATS CRU. Rooted in the streets of the South Bronx, the film traces how graffiti emerged from neglected concrete walls to become the first visual element of hip-hop and a global artistic language.
Blending poetic visual storytelling with raw, street-level authenticity, the documentary follows the personal journeys of these artists as they navigate creativity, risk, survival, and self-expression. Through intimate interviews and immersive visuals, Spray Can Stories reveals how spray paint has become more than a tool—it has become a voice for communities often excluded from traditional art institutions.
The project also includes music created in all genres that reflects the experiences of the writers as they pursued their passion and thirst to be heard.
At its core, Spray Can Stories is a testament to the power of art created outside the mainstream. It honors the pioneers who risked everything to leave their mark, challenges misconceptions about graffiti, and celebrates a movement that transformed rebellion into beauty and expression into a lasting legacy.
