Dr. B. Krishna Prapoorna

Dr. B. Krishna Prapoorna is Associate Professor & Head of the Department of Civil & Environmental Engineering at the Indian Institute of Technology Tirupati, India. He obtained both Doctoral and Master of Science degrees from Arizona State University, USA. During 2011-12, he served as an Assistant Director of the National Center of Excellence on SMART Innovations at Arizona State University, USA. His interdisciplinary research and teaching experience include transportation pavement materials, design, maintenance, and rehabilitation; highway noise evaluation and modeling; sustainable & smart infrastructures.

He has authored / co-authored and contributed over 225 papers in scholastic journals and peer-reviewed international conferences, and over 70 reports, press articles, newsletters, and guides till date. In 2015, 2018, and 2022, he was awarded the Asphalt-Rubber Ambassadorship for the Republic of India instituted by the Rubberized Asphalt Foundation and Rubberized Asphalt-Rubber international conference group. Recently, he was recognized as one of the world’s top 2% scientists (Elsevier and Stanford University reports). He is one of the Directors of the Rubberized Asphalt Foundation and an Independent Director of Tinna Rubber Infrastructure Limited. He also serves as an External Faculty Member of the Graduate Research Committee at Purdue University and Adjunct Professor of Arizona State University, USA. In 2023, he was appointed as the Co-Chair of the USA-based Transportation Research Board of the National Academy of Sciences subcommittee on Pavement Lifecyle.

Dr. P. Venkataraman

Dr. P Venkataraman is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the Indian Institute of Technology Tirupati. He earned his Ph.D. from Nanyang Technological University, Singapore, and has Post-doctoral experience from the Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organization, Melbourne. His primary research interest is in computational mechanics and has worked on multiscale modelling, meshfree methods, and modelling of hydraulic fractures. Recently, he is working on the mechanics of cellular architected materials under impact, mechanics of natural fiber composites, and recycling of fiber composite wastes. Dr. Venkataraman has published 20 papers in the leading peer-reviewed journals and equal number of papers in refereed conference proceedings.
