Effective 29 August 2026
Unspend helps you keep track of the subscriptions you and your family pay for. This policy explains what the app collects, why, and what control you have over it.
What changed in this version. Unspend now shows ads in the free version on Android. Some technical information about your device is collected by Google in order to serve them. Nothing you type into the app is part of that — your subscriptions, household and notes still never leave your phone. The advertising section below sets out exactly what is involved.
Your email address, if you sign in. Used only to sign you in and to send you a one-time code. Signing in is optional — the whole app works without it. We do not send you marketing email.
What you type into the app. The subscriptions you add: names, plans, amounts, billing dates, free-trial dates, categories and notes. The people you add to your household: their name, the avatar you choose for them, and any note you write. The payment methods you name: a nickname such as "HDFC Visa" and a short reminder such as the last four digits. All of it is stored on your phone.
Technical information for advertising. The free version of Unspend shows ads on Android, supplied by Google AdMob. To serve them, Google collects:
your device's advertising ID — a resettable identifier Android assigns for advertising
your IP address
technical details about your device and the app — model, operating system version, language, network type, app version
a record of the ads themselves — which were shown, viewed, clicked or dismissed, and when
Google uses this to choose which ads to show, measure how they perform, limit how often you see the same one, and detect fraudulent activity. Google receives this data directly and handles it as an independent controller under its own privacy policy, at policies.google.com/privacy. You can see and change your Google ad settings at adssettings.google.com.
Your bank or card details. We do not ask for or store your bank details, full card numbers, security codes, or banking logins. Unspend is not connected to any bank or payment provider and cannot move money. The reminder you type against a payment method is capped at four characters where it stands for digits, so a full card number does not fit.
Anything you type. None of your subscriptions, household members, payment nicknames, notes or settings are sent to us or to Google. They form no part of an ad request, they are not used to target advertising, and they do not leave your phone unless you export a backup yourself.
Your precise location. Unspend does not ask for or use GPS or device location. Google infers an approximate area — usually city level — from your IP address, in order to serve ads that make sense where you are. That is the only location signal involved.
Analytics of our own. We do not run analytics, session recording or crash reporting. The only things that leave your phone are the advertising data described above, and your email address if you choose to sign in.
We do not sell your data. We do not sell personal information. Google is the only party that receives anything, and only for the advertising purpose set out above.
If you are in the EEA, UK or Switzerland, the first time you open the app you will be asked whether you agree to personalised ads. You can say no. Saying no does not lock you out of any feature — you will see non-personalised ads instead, which still need the technical data above in order to be delivered and to prevent fraud. You can change your answer at any time in Settings → Privacy options.
Anywhere. Android Settings → Privacy → Ads lets you reset your advertising ID, or delete it altogether. Deleting it stops personalised advertising in every app on the phone, not just this one.
Unspend Pro removes ads. If you buy Pro, no ads are requested and none of the advertising data above is collected.
On your phone. Your subscriptions, the people in your household, your payment method nicknames and your settings are stored on your device, in the operating system's own secure storage — the iOS Keychain or the Android Keystore. They are not uploaded to us.
Sign-in is handled by Supabase, which stores your email address and authentication records on its servers. Supabase's privacy policy is at supabase.com/privacy.
Backups you make yourself. You can export a backup file from Settings. That file contains everything the app has stored. The app hands it to your phone's share sheet and never learns where it goes — where you send it, and who can then read it, is your choice. The file is not encrypted, so keep it somewhere you trust.
What is on your phone stays there until you remove it. Delete the app and your subscription list goes with it.
Your email address and authentication records are kept while your account is open, and removed within 30 days of you deleting your account.
Advertising data is held by Google on its own retention schedule, described in its privacy policy. We never receive a copy of it.
You can delete your account from inside the app. You can also email spolvero.design@gmail.com from the address on your account and ask us to do it. We will confirm once it is done.
Unspend is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect data from them. Our ad requests are not tagged as child-directed.
What is stored on your phone is held in the operating system's own secure storage. What passes between the app and Supabase when you sign in is encrypted in transit. No system is perfectly secure, and we will tell you promptly if a breach affects your data.
You can ask us what data we hold about you, ask for a copy, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Write to the address below and we will respond within 30 days.
Because everything you type stays on your device, most of this you can do yourself, immediately, from inside the app. If you are in India, we handle personal data in line with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, and you may write to us with any grievance. If you are in the EEA or UK, our legal bases are your consent for personalised advertising, our legitimate interest in non-personalised advertising and fraud prevention, and performance of a contract for Unspend Pro.
If we change how the app handles data, we will update this page and change the date at the top. Significant changes will be announced in the app.
