📄 Split Up – Track It All – Privacy Policy

Split Up is committed to protecting your privacy. We focus on minimal data collection, full transparency, and giving you full control over your experience.

1. No Account Required, Limited Personal Data

You can use Split Up without creating an account. However, you may be asked to enter a name so that other group members can recognize you. This name:

• Is optional

• Is only visible within the groups you join

• Is not connected to your real identity or personal information

We do not collect:

• Email addresses

• Phone numbers

2. Permissions

Split Up may request the following permissions:

• Push notifications: To inform you about updates or reminders

• Camera and gallery access: So you can add photos to your income, expense, or transfer records

• iOS Tracking Transparency: On iOS devices, for anonymous usage analysis

Camera and gallery access is only used when you manually choose to attach a photo to an activity. We never access your media without your action.

3. Anonymous Usage Data

To improve the app experience, Split Up uses Firebase (by Google) to collect anonymized usage data, such as:

• Screen views

• Button taps

These events:

• Are linked to a randomly generated anonymous user ID (e.g., “user_01”)

• Do not include any personally identifying information

• Are stored only in Firebase

• Are used strictly for internal performance improvement
  
  

4. Activity Records & Photos

In Split Up, users can attach photos to income, expense, or transfer records. These photos:

• Are stored locally on your device

• Are not uploaded to our servers

• Are not deleted automatically when you uninstall the app

• Can be manually deleted by you at any time
  
  

5. Data Deletion Requests

If you would like to request deletion of your anonymous usage data or activity photos, please contact us at:

Although we cannot directly access your anonymous ID, we may locate and delete your data using internal logs and timestamps.

6. Third-Party Services

Split Up uses the following third-party services to provide its core functionality:

• Firebase (Google): For anonymous usage analytics

• Apple (App Store): For subscription and billing management

We do not share personal data with third parties. No advertising SDKs or trackers are used.

7. Subscriptions & Payments

All payments and subscriptions are managed through Apple’s App Store.

• We do not process, store, or access your payment or billing details.

• All transactions and billing information are handled by Apple in accordance with their App Store privacy policies.

• You can cancel or manage your subscription through your Apple device settings.
