The success of Splitter Farms is built on the dedication and expertise of our incredible team. From highly skilled mechanics and equipment operators to division and location managers, every team member plays a vital role in our operation. Our workforce is a blend of long-term employees who provide stability and deep knowledge, alongside newer team members who bring fresh ideas and energy, creating a dynamic and innovative environment.
Matt was raised on the ancestral home just outside Lorraine, Kansas. In the fall of 2011, Matt and his wife, Janna, seeded their first winter wheat crop.
Matt has served on multiple boards, including; Central Prairie Co-op Board of Directors, Team Marketing Alliance Board of advisors, Rice County Extension Board as Chairman and the Kansas Corn Association Board of directors. He has served as a delegate for the National Corn Growers Corn Congress and most recently served on the FCC's federal advisory committee of Precision Ag Connectivity Task Force. He also is a member of the Trustee's Committee at their church.
Matt graduated from Kansas State University's College of Agriculture and is a graduate of Texas A&M's "The Executive Program for Agriculture Producers", TEPAP. He is also an alum of National Sorghum's "Leadership Sorghum" program, National Corn Grower's "Leadership at its Best", and Kansas Corn's "Kansas Corn Corps" Leadership program.
Janna grew up on a first generation farm outside of Sterling, Kansas. She was heavily involved in 4-H and that's where she and Matt connected.
Janna uses her years of experience working for USDA and local banks in her role as Co-Owner / Controller for Splitter Farms. For nearly 10 years, she has served as a volunteer for CommonGround Kansas having conversations with consumers. Other volunteer roles include serving as co-leader for a local 4-H Club, serving on the county's 4-H Professional Development Committee and most recently, serving as chairwoman for her church's Staff-Parish Relations Committee. She's also been involved with Kansas Farm Bureau, Rice County Farm Bureau and Kansas Corn.
Janna graduated from Kansas State University's College of Agriculture and Leadership Studies. She is a graduate of Kansas Corn's "Kansas Corn Corps" Leadership program.
Lee and Margaret transitioned their operation, Scheufler Farms, to Matt and Janna and now serve as advisors for Splitter Farms. Lee's great-grandfather homesteaded in Rice County in the 1800's. The land originally farmed by Lee's father, grandfather and great-grandfather are now farmed by Splitter Farms. Margaret was raised on a farm in nearby Pawnee County. When Lee began farming in the late 1970's, a large portion of the farm operation was custom wheat harvesting. In the early 1990's, Lee and Margaret stepped away from custom harvesting and grew their operation in Central Kansas.
Dan was an employee of Scheufler Farms prior to their merge with Splitter Farms. Joining their farm in the 1980's, he brings over 40 years of experience to the operation. Dan is our lead sprayer operator, oversees inventory and also manages our on-farm grain facility.
Darin joined our operation in 2016. As a previous John Deere technician, he brings a wealth of experience and knowledge of green equipment to our operation. Darin is our lead combine mechanic and a harvest operator.
With a variety of work experiences, John brought a wide set of skills with him to our operation in 2023. As a location manager, John manages the shop and assists heavily with planting and harvest operations.
Griffin, joining us in 2023, works part-time during the school year and full-time in the summers. He assists with shop work, farm locations maintenance and during our busiest seasons, operations and logistics.
After a summer internship with our operation in 2024, Jarrett joined us permanently in early 2025. Jarrett brings experience as a general operator and is especially instrumental through our planting seasons .
Jareth is the newest member of our farm team, joining us in the fall of 2024. During harvest, Jareth has served as a grain cart operator and member of our operations team. He also assists with maintenance and other general operations.
George is a previous member of the Scheufler Farms team and transitioned to Splitter Farms to assist seasonally. He is an operator during summer and fall harvest and serves an important role during our busiest seasons.
