Splitour is a tool designed to assist with group expense tracking and settlement calculations. While we strive for accuracy, please note the following:

The app may crash, malfunction, or produce unexpected results due to device issues, internet connectivity problems, or software errors.
Splitour and its developer are not responsible for any financial loss, disputes, or damages arising from reliance on calculations or information displayed in the app.
All monetary transactions between users happen directly between users — Splitour does not process, hold, or transfer any money.

Welcome to Splitour ("the App", "we", "us", or "our"). Splitour is a group expense splitting application that helps friends, families, colleagues, and groups track shared expenses and calculate fair settlements.
This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your personal information when you use our app. It applies to all users worldwide, including users in the European Union (GDPR), United Kingdom, United States (CCPA), India, and all other regions.
By using Splitour, you agree to the terms of this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please discontinue use of the app.
2.1 Information You Provide
Name — your display name used within the app
Email address — used for account creation via Google Sign-In
Trip and expense data — trip names, expense amounts, member names, categories, tags, and notes you enter
Advance payment amounts — amounts entered in the Group Advance feature
2.2 Information Collected Automatically
Device token — Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) token for push notifications
Usage data — basic app usage information collected via Firebase Analytics
Crash reports — anonymous crash data to help us fix bugs
2.3 Information We Do NOT Collect
We do not collect your bank account or payment details
We do not process any real financial transactions
We do not collect your location data
We do not access your contacts, camera, or microphone
We do not sell your personal data to anyone
We use the information collected to:
Provide the service — create and manage your account, trips, and expenses
Sync your data — keep your expenses and settlements updated across devices
Send notifications — alert you when expenses are added, payments are made, or members join your trips
Improve the app — analyze usage patterns to fix bugs and improve features

All data is stored securely on Google Firebase (Firestore database) hosted on Google Cloud infrastructure
Data is encrypted in transit using industry-standard SSL/TLS encryption
Data is encrypted at rest by Firebase's built-in security
We use Firebase Authentication for secure login — we never store your Google password
Access to your trip data is controlled by security rules — only authenticated members of a trip can access that trip's data
We follow Google Cloud's security standards which comply with ISO 27001, SOC 1/2/3, and other international certifications
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We share data only with:

5.2 Other Users in Your Trips
When you join a trip, other members of that trip can see your name and expense contributions
Your email address is not visible to other members
5.3 Legal Requirements
We may disclose your information if required by law, court order, or government authority.
Your data is retained as long as your account is active
You can delete your account from Settings → Delete Account — this permanently removes all your personal data
Trip data shared with other members may be retained in their trip history

Splitour is intended for users 18 years and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (or under 16 in the EU). If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately at care.splitour@gmail.com and we will delete it.

New expenses added to your trips
Settlement updates and payment confirmations
New members joining your trips
Noticeboard updates
You can disable notifications at any time from:
In-app: Settings → Notifications
Device: Phone Settings → Apps → Splitour → Notifications
Splitour supports offline functionality. When you use the app without internet:
Data is stored temporarily on your device
It syncs to our servers when internet is restored
This local data is protected by your device's security
We plan to introduce the following features in future updates:
iOS support — the app will be available on Apple App Store
Advertising — we may introduce non-intrusive ads via Google AdMob. Users will be notified before this change
Premium subscription — optional paid features. Free features will remain free
Multi-language support — support for Hindi, Marathi, and other Indian languages
This Privacy Policy will be updated before any new data practices are introduced.
Splitour may contain links to external services (WhatsApp sharing, email, Play Store). We are not responsible for the privacy practices of these third-party services.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do:
The "Last Updated" date at the top will change
For significant changes, we will notify users via in-app notification
Continued use of the app after changes means you accept the updated policy
