- Authentication details
b) Group & Expense Data
We collect:
- Group names
- Member names

- Settlement history
- UPI IDs entered by users
c) Device Information
We may collect limited technical information such as:
- Device type
- Operating system
- App performance logs
d) Camera Access
If you use QR code scanning for UPl payments, camera permission is required only for scanning payment QR codes.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to:
- Create and manage your account
- Help you split expenses
- Track balances
- Maintain transaction history
- Improve app performance
- Prevent misuse
3. UPI Payments
SplitMate does NOT process, store, or hold your money.
When you choose to settle via UPI:
- We redirect you to third-party UPI apps (Google Pay, PhonePe, Paytm, CRED, etc.)
- Payments are handled entirely by those apps
- We are not responsible for failed payments, bank issues, or third-party payment errors
4. Data Storage
Your data is stored securely using third-party services such as Firebase/Firestore.
5. Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal data.
We may share information only:
- When required by law
- To protect our platform
- With trusted service providers for app functionality
6. Data Security
We take reasonable measures to protect your information, but no platform is completely secure.
7. Your Rights
You may:
- Delete your account
- Request deletion of your data
- Stop using the app anytime
8. Children's Privacy
SplitMate is not intended for users under 13 years old.
