SplitCircle (“we”, “our”, “us”, or “App”) is a group expense tracking application. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, why we use it, how we share it, and what choices you have when using SplitCircle.
By downloading, registering for, or using SplitCircle, you agree to this Privacy Policy.
When you create an account, we collect:
Name
Email address
Password (managed securely by Firebase Authentication; we do not store passwords in plain text)
Firebase user ID
You may optionally choose a profile photo. If you upload one, it is stored using Firebase Storage.
To provide the main features of the App, we collect and store:
Group names, icons, currency, and group members
Expense names, descriptions, amounts, dates, split details, and payer information
Settlement and payment-status records
Notifications related to expenses, groups, and settlements
If notifications are enabled, we may collect and store:
Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) device token
Notification preference settings
This is used only to send relevant App notifications, such as new expenses, settlements, or group activity.
SplitCircle displays advertisements through Google AdMob. Google and its advertising partners may automatically collect certain device and usage information for ad delivery, measurement, fraud prevention, and, where applicable, ad personalization. This can include device identifiers, IP address, ad interaction information, and approximate device-related information.

We use your information to:
Create and manage your SplitCircle account
Authenticate your login and support password reset
Let you create, join, and manage expense groups
Record expenses and calculate balances between group members
Display settlement information
Send notifications about activity relevant to your groups
Show and measure advertisements
Maintain security, prevent misuse, and improve App performance
Respond to privacy, support, or account-deletion requests
When you join or create a group, other members of that group may be able to see:
Your name
Your profile photo, if uploaded
Expenses, balances, settlements, and other information you add to the shared group
Your email address may be used to locate your registered SplitCircle account when another user adds you to a group.
We use Google Firebase services, including:
Firebase Authentication — account login and password management
Cloud Firestore — storage of user, group, expense, settlement, and notification data
Firebase Storage — profile-photo storage
Firebase Cloud Messaging — push notifications
Google AdMob — advertising and ad measurement
These providers process information as needed to operate their services.
We do not sell your name, email address, profile photo, or expense records to third parties. We do not collect bank account details, credit-card numbers, or payment credentials through SplitCircle.
Your data is stored using Google Firebase services. We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards designed to protect your information, including encrypted connections.
However, no online service or transmission method can be guaranteed to be completely secure. Please keep your login credentials confidential and use a strong password.
SplitCircle uses Google AdMob to show banner advertisements. Ads may be based on contextual, device, or ad-related data handled by Google and its partners under their own policies.
You may be able to control advertising preferences through your device settings or Google account settings.
You can:
Update your name and notification preferences from the Profile section of the App
Disable notifications through the App or your device settings
Choose not to upload a profile photo
Delete your account from the Profile section of the App
Contact us to request access, correction, or deletion of personal information
You can request account deletion directly in the App:
Profile → Delete Account
When you delete your account, the App deletes your Firebase Authentication account and user-profile record.
Some shared historical group, expense, settlement, or notification records may remain where necessary to preserve the records and balances of groups shared with other users. Any profile photo or residual service data may be removed according to our operational retention practices or upon a verified deletion request.

We retain information while your account is active or as needed to provide the App’s features. We may retain limited shared group and expense records after account deletion when needed to maintain accurate group history, resolve disputes, comply with legal obligations, or protect against fraud and misuse.
SplitCircle is not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the App, please contact us so we can take appropriate action.
The App may use third-party services such as Google Firebase and Google AdMob. Their handling of information is governed by their own privacy policies. We encourage you to review Google’s Privacy Policy:

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated “Last Updated” date. Continued use of SplitCircle after changes are posted means you accept the updated Privacy Policy.
