Well, what a diverse country my homeland is! I am sure that I dont have full knowledge of all the cultural nuances and traditions across my country. However I will definitely try to share with my readers all that I have learnt and known till now.

Diwali: The Festival of Light

Diwali is a widely popular festival in India and also well known across the world. But did you know that in different parts of India, we follow different types of traditions or rituals during this same festival?! 

Primarily, the main festival of north India, Diwali is also known as the 'Festival of Light'. Diwali symbolises victory of good over evil and light over darkness. In Hinduism, it also marks the time when Lord Ram came home (to Ayodhya) with his wife Sita after defeating Ravana (story of Ramayana). 

Northern India

In northern India, Diwali includes rituals such as 'Lakshmi Puja', 'Illuminating homes with candles and lights', 'Fireworks' mark the celebration of Diwali.
