When i open Rhino, two popup boxes override the splash screen, asking about plugins. The first time I opened Rhino after the update, I could not print until I installed a plug in that concerned Rhino Render, I think. Is this a bug in the new update?

The Splash Screen shows but is immediately overrun by the popups and the splash screen does not return so I never get a chance to choose one of my template. I had to save my templates to the desktop to access them.

You can run the About command at any time to make the splash screen appear. Also, unless you have changed some settings, running New will automatically open the folder where the templates are stored.

I think I solved the problem. Both plug-ins were unchecked. I checked them and then closed Rhino. When I reopened Rhino there were no popups and the splash screen worked as usual. This also held for file that I have been working on.

I did some Googling, and came across this bug: Splash screen does not display on Android. Within this bug, it was said that in order to use a splash screen on Android, you must specify the Android-only preference SplashScreen:

This - to me anyway - does not imply in any way that it enables the use of a splash screen. Rather, it says what the file name should be (minus extension) for a splash screen. But as soon as I tested by adding this value it worked right.

So we have two issues here. First - this tag is required to use a splash screen, which I don't think is documented well. Secondly - even though it says it defaults to splash, you still have to specify it anyway. (Err, ok, maybe that's still one issue. ;)

I am building an FX demo reel. In this case I am using the firstPerson template. The projectile hits a car the car explodes. On the ground I see a oil splash appear as a Decal. For the oil splash I sources some stock footage and turned it into a sprite sheet. Immediately after the oil hits the ground it ignites. btw, I have done all the particle work found in the explosion, I am just adding to the explosion effect with the oil splash.

The problem I am having is with the oil splash out side the car and on the ground. I am using matinee to play it, and then using the Level BluePrint to call the matinee. Because the spalsh is derived from a sprite sheet I dont know how to get it to start exactly at the point I want because it is looping from the beginging of game it sees the begining of game as its start point.

I want to have an animation as my splash screen in my React Native expo app.I'm using the expo-splash-screen library to try to implement this, but all I'm getting when I launch my app is a blank white screen instead of the animation. Any ideas why?

I recently picked up a 2008 sedan to replace a too-crappy 3rd gen wagon for daily duties. The exhaust manifold/catalytic converter were very recently replaced, but it only seems to have a partial splash shield setup.

The Fayette swimming pool is scheduled to open on time during Memorial Day weekend later this month. The splash park at the Fayette City Park opened on Friday, May 12, but was closed the following day due to a faulty pump.

The splash park, which opened last year, has already had issues with broken components. Repairmen were here Friday to replace parts and bring it online for the summer, but the pump began smoking on Saturday, forcing the city to shut down the pad temporarily.

After installing SoapUI 5.2.1 (with installer executable for windows 32 bits), it works fine. Even if I exited it and run it again, no issue appears. But next time I turn on my laptop it won't. The splash screen displays but nothing else happens. It just keeps stuck on it. No error, nothing. The mouse pointer is busy when I fly it over the splashscreen and thie process SoapUI-5.2.1.exe shows up in the Windows Task Manager (00 CPU, 63.680 KB memory usage).

The splash pad rules and regulations sub-committee presented theirguidelines covering hours of operation, and many safety and healthissues. The commission approved those regulations, as well aseliminating eating, drinking, and smoking in the splash pad.

An internet splash page is a page that appears when you try to connect to a public Wi-Fi network, which requires you to accept terms and conditions in a web browser before being granted access to the internet. This page can sometimes interfere with the Temp Stick's ability to connect to the network.

With all these advantages, there are several drawbacks, the largest and most pressing being that of front face spall (also known as splash). Spall refers to any ejecta resulting from an impact event. Rear face spall has been an issue mainly with tanks/AFVs for as long as they have been used. In WWI, British and German tank crews suffered casualties from rounds impacting the armor and kicking off shards of the plates at high velocity. Even though the rounds may not have penetrated, damage was still done. The British took advantage of the principle of spall with their development of the HESH round after WWII. This was an explosive shell with a soft head, which, when it hit the enemy vehicle, exploded on the outside. The shock wave blew large chunks of spall off the interior of the vehicle.

Front face spall, or splash, is the result of the projectile disintegrating into a cloud of high velocity fragments. The cloud usually manifests as a primary and secondary conoid of splash, the first being made up of the larger jacket pieces. This usually bounces back at an angle very close to the initial strike. The secondary conoid, which makes up about 80% of the total splash threat, travels primarily along the face of the plate, to exit at close to 90 degrees from the original strike. It is this conoid that presents the greatest threat to life and limb.

Because of how steel rifle plates function, this unfortunate property occurs every time a bullet is successfully stopped. Stopping the round is the purpose of the plate, but up until recently, no consideration was given to keeping the face, throat, and extremities safe from the cloud of cutting fragments. Generally, higher velocity rounds produce more spall (the M193 is a more dangerous round for splash than M80 ball, for instance). The core composition will also play a large role in splash/spall. The M855 produces less spall, due to a larger volume of the core being taken up by a mild steel penetrator. The penetrator is fairly easy to trap with spall mitigation technologies. Close range impacts will obviously pose a greater spall/splash risk than longer distance shots.

Other, more recent solutions involve adding metallic components to the plate. While undoubtedly effective at catching splash exiting the sides of the plate, adding MORE metal, MORE weight, and MORE thickness to already heavy plates is not an optimal solution.

Specially designed slip-on guards utilizing custom engineered/manufactured aramid blend fibers have so far proven to be the best combination of attributes for capturing front face splash/spall. These guards can be removed, swapped between plates, or replaced once used, and are thin, light, and above all, COMFORTABLE. They can be built for ANY steel (or ceramic, for that matter) plate currently extant.

Steel plates can be an excellent choice, but it is vital for end users to be aware of potential safety issues. There are several options for mitigating splash, each with their unique benefits and weaknesses. Above all, ensure you are using adequate splash protection if you choose to run steel rifle plates, and keep your face and extremities safe! 006ab0faaa
