Fertilizer Sampling Probe
Refer to Malaysian Standard MS 417-1:2017 entitled The analysis of fertilizers - Part 1: Method of sampling and sample preparation (2nd revision), a non-corrosive slotted grain probe with sharp edges with the following specification shall be used for fertilizer sampling.

Length of probe：min. 650mm
Slot length: 92% of the lenght of probe above.
Slot width: 13mm
Inner diameter: 16mm

Below diagram shows the fertilizer sampling method using the probe as recommended by International Fertilizer Industry Association .
The fertilizer packages selected shall be intact and in good external condition. From each of these packages laid horizontally take a full length diagonal core from bottom corner to top corner (see Figure 1) using the recommended probe (see Figure 2).
Mix the sample thoroughly to form a composite sample and reduce the sample by quartering and store in a polyethylene bag, seal to avoid moisture contact and label with sample code.
Standard sample weight required is 250g.
