How to arrive to Morelia
Arriving in Morelia
Morelia has an international airport. Flights arrive at Francisco J. Mugica Airport daily. There are direct flights from several cities in the US, such as Houston and Dallas, Texas, and Chicago, Illinois. The airport is located about 25 kilometers from Morelia. Taxis are available at a cost of around $400 to $450 Mexican pesos (approximately 23 to 26 US dollars). It's about a 40-minute ride. There are no shutlles from the airport to the city.
Arriving in Mexico City
The International Airport of Mexico City (AICM) receives flights from all around the world. To reach Morelia, you can either take a connecting flight from Mexico City or opt for a bus journey.
Arriving by bus from AICM
You can take an authorized taxi from AICM to Observatorio Bus Station (also know as Mexico-Poniente Bus Station). We highly recommend traveling with the bus campanies ETN or Primera Plus. The journey to Morelia takes about 4 hours.

Weather
Morelia has a mild temperate climate with dry winters and warm summers. In August, the weather is characterized by consistenly daily temperatures arround 24°C, with nightly lows averaging around 15°C. The likelihood of rain during August remains consistently high, at around 73%.
Currency
Mexico's currency is the Peso Mexicano (MXN). Current exchange rate is approximately 1 $ USD = 17 $ MXN, 1 € = 18 $ MXN. Money can be freely exchanged in banks or Money Exchange Houses (Casas de Cambio).

Voltage is 120 V, 60 Hz power, with the same plugs and sockets that in the US.
