The numerical value of Abraham is 248.

Alef (א) = 1

Bet (ב) = 2

Resh (ר) = 200

Heh (ה) = 5

Mem (ם) = 40 *

Total: 1 + 2 + 200 + 5 + 40 = 248

That number doesn't mean much to me, but it was regarded as the complete body by ancient people. Supposedly, there are 248 bones in the body. (Modern medicine would say 206, but this was an ancient concept.) The entire body is a very interesting concept in temple ordinances like initiatory.

Of note, Abraham's name was originally Abram and when God renewed His covenant with Abram, he took the most important letter from YHWH and added it to make Abraham. The Heh has a symbolic meaning of "behold." A pretty good symbol for the revelation that Abraham received.

Genesis 17:

1 And when Abram was ninety years old and nine, the Lord appeared to Abram, and said unto him, I am the Almighty God; walk before me, and be thou perfect.

2 And I will make my covenant between me and thee, and will multiply thee exceedingly.

3 And Abram fell on his face: and God talked with him, saying,

4 As for me, behold, my covenant is with thee, and thou shalt be a father of many nations.

5 Neither shall thy name any more be called Abram, but thy name shall be Abraham; for a father of many nations have I made thee.
