A spiritual mind is one that is open, thoughtful and comfortable with itself in terms of the thoughts that flow through it.
I find it quite strange that mainstream thinking in general tends to ignore the spiritual side of human existence in favor of focusing the bulk of its attention on whatever the mainstream media pours out of its many and varied portals.
Strange in that spirituality is the essence of the human, yet relatively so few do much more than merely acknowledge that it is even there.
Since I'm spiritually focused in my thinking and in my lifestyle, I decided its time to write down my own thoughts and ideas concerning this important aspect of humankind.
I may not be in perfect agreement with everyone of a similar mindset, but that doesn't matter. Because enlightenment comes from generating ideas from within and accepting them with gratitude.
I mentioned enlightenment because that's what I feel I have achieved in many areas of my own thinking and how it affects the way I live.
It's a state that I believe stems from that "aha" moment that strikes a mental chord when it arrives, seemingly from nowhere. Being enlightened, to my way of thinking, is to acknowledge that everything that exists in life has come from somewhere and that "somewhere" originates from the deepest depths of a person's mind.
It also means the mind of an enlightened person is "awake" in the sense that the person is able to think for themselves. They are aware that not everything that exists in their world is what we are lead to believe by the media, governments and other people in positions of power that use it for their own ends and agendas.
I would describe myself that way. I am very much aware that most of what I am told to accept as the norm and how I should live my life is wrong on so many levels.
But that's something I will write down in a separate page as the subject needs to be distanced from the main topic of this site.
Let's go back to spirituality in its essence, which is the acceptance that the "soul" or "life force" of a person is found within. It is what makes us sentient, self aware and alive.
It is not necessarily a deep, religious belief in a supreme being that exists in a place up in the sky somewhere. For those that are of that belief, I mean no disrespect. It's just not my personal view.
My belief is that the supreme entity or being that some call God is not really the powerful, white bearded man that exists in a place called Heaven. My God is the spiritual essence of me and it exists within me.
It is the unconscious power that connects all living things and imbues us with the power of free thought, self awareness and life itself to be creative beings in our own right. Accepting that concept as the truth is being spiritually aware, or aware of the self and the mental capabilities we all possess (whether we use them all or not).
One of the most asked questions has to be a variation on this: "What is my purpose?"
There are any number of plausible answers to that question. My personal choice of answer has its roots in something I have read in the Bible that seems to make a lot of sense:
To paraphrase (to avoid any inaccuracies), I believe we are here to do God's work. Since God is "the Creator," it would be fair to say His work is creation. That would mean in simple terms that our purpose, is that we are here to create.
Create what?
I believe our job is to create or build a life in a healthy and abundant world that is in harmony with Nature and in line with the Laws that were set out in the Good Book.
That, for me is one way of looking at spirituality and living the right way.
I also believe that to live in disharmony with Nature is contrary to our purpose and at odds with that manual for life that is the Christian Bible.
Unfortunately, that describes a large proportion of the "mainstream" way of life. You only need to look around you to see where things are wrong.
Look at the way we produce our food! Most farming agricultural methods are horribly toxic to us. They produce vegetative crops that are seriously depleted of the essential vitamins and minerals that we need for good health.
They farm animals for meat that are kept in appalling conditions, fed appalling food and are routinely pumped full of all manner of medications. That's to make them grow faster, produce more meat per animal and neutralize diseases that are, for the most part a direct result of the horrible way they are confined in close quarters to one another.
If slowly poisoning us with our food isn't enough, our drinking water is poisoned with sodium fluoride. That is a neurotoxin that dulls the mind and calcifies the pineal gland (often referred to as the seat of human consciousness, or Third Eye), essentially cutting us off from our true mental capabilities.
Our air is poisoned with chemicals that spew forth from industry and the toxic chemtrails that are deliberately being scattered into our upper atmosphere.
While slowly poisoning us, the people in power control the information that is fed into our minds via the television, radio, newspapers and other media. While it could be argued that we have free access to information via the Internet, even that has been commandeered by social media to divert our attention away from any useful information and to make us addicted to pointless social interaction with people we don't even know.
Fortunately, there are some things that can counterbalance all the wrongness in this world today. The only caveat is that a person must go actively seeking the goodness rather than merely sitting back and allowing all the badness to find them (as it surely does).
The way to spiritual freedom is to become aware.
That means opening your eyes, ears and mind to the world around you. And not blithely accepting everything your told as being fact or true.
It means waking up from the hypnotic slumber most of humanity is trapped in and seeing, first, that you have been in that slumber and are now empowered to force yourself to tear yourself out of it.
Then it means rejecting most of what you have been indoctrinated with throughout your life and seeking the truth about everything. That will not be an easy task, but it is absolutely achievable.
Then you must start to act upon that knowledge. Change your life, your outlook on life and the way you live that life to reflect the truth you have discovered.
Then tell others...
