Author and motivational speaker Dawn Shaw may have a face that stands out, but that hasn't stopped her from living a fulfilling life and creating confidence in others. She has published three books, including her memoir Facing Up to It and an inspirational guide titled Facial Shift, Adjusting to an Altered Appearance. In 2015 and 16, she hosted an online series called "Friending the Mirror," which addressed appearance-related issues and insecurities with the hope of educating people about differences. In 2017, she acted, and sang, in the movie Happy Face, which is currently available on most video-on-demand streaming platforms. Another crowning achievement is her TEDx talk, titled Beauty is an Inside Job. Outside of speaking, she is happily married, is a fan of live music, collects and restores Breyer model horses, and raises Icelandic horses in Washington state.
