Says SpinSpinBunny, "I really love this collection, as it represents a side-step from much of my work to date, which has really been focused on peak-hour dancefloor anthem-style and upbeat music. This collection turns down the volume and up the sweet chill, giving listeners a light-hearted and relaxing experience. There are plenty of upbeat songs with catchy lyrics intermixed with the atmospheric and relaxing lo-fi hip-hop style tracks. I feel like this would be a great album to play at a house party - or even when studying or relaxing."
Evoking emotions was a key focus for SpinSpinBunny when creating this collection. Says SpinSpinBunny, "I really focused on including sounds that would take the listener to a specific place - the beach, a roller coaster, rain falling, kids laughing...title track 'Soft Serve' is driven by a funky beat and a request from a wistful young girl that makes me feel like I'm standing at the beach watching this little girl light up when she asks for an ice cream cone, 'Yes, soft serve,' she says happily. I hope people listening get that same type of experience."
