Memories of a childhood friend and current events have brought my personal beliefs about religious fundamentalism into critical focus. Sealing The Light is my reaction to what I saw growing up close to a fundamentalist Christian family. My friend in that family seemed to fare better than I did: she retained her gentle, pure spirit while mine grew hard in rebellion against what I perceived as cruel and arbitrary judgements.
