Welcome Spinnaker Families! We hope you had a wonderful summer and are ready for an awesome school year.
Will will use this section of the site to post important team news and updates periodically such as important event dates (field trips, conferences, performances, etc.). Be sure to watch this space!
Other ways to stay updated:
- Home Visits - It's a Spinnaker tradition to meet with 7th grade families at the beginning of the new school year either at home or at school to get to know you better and set goals for the upcoming year. We will be contacting you to schedule these visits shortly.
- Monthly Newsletter -This student-generated newsletter will report on team happenings and be sent out via-email.
- Parent Emails from Students - Periodically, we will ask students to send emails home about what they have been working on.
- Postcards/Emails from Teachers - When we want to recognize how AWESOME our students are, we will send a note to parents celebrating individual student success.

Parent Involvement - There are a number of ways parents can be involved with our team.
- Attend our Open House at the beginning of the year where we will hold a brief information session and workshop about how we run our team and how you can best support your child at home.
- Volunteer to help. We know our team parents have a wealth of expertise and we want to celebrate it! Let us know if you might be willing to serve as a mentor, guest speaker, chaperone, classroom aide, or more! You don't have to come in during the school day in order to be a volunteer.
- Help us organize and plan a learning experience for students. We hope to get students out into the community as much as possible and it really takes a village.
Community Involvement
We are always looking for ways to connect our students with the local community, and to continue educational experiences outside the walls of the classroom. In this section, we will post information about our educational initiatives with our local community partners, and other events in our area that your child may be interested in and are connected to our learning in school.
