App Privacy and Safety

a.  Privacy Policy:

• User activity is used to: compile, evaluate and improve the use and updating of SpiinPiin, its expansion and for advertising purposes only.

• User personal identity, activity and other information is never revealed or sold to others.

• SpiinPiin data files are encrypted and kept confidential.

• Users are not provided with access to SpiinPiin data files except that they may view albums according to the permissions granted by the album.

• Users agree that their posts of photos and videos to albums may be downloaded by other users who have permission to view and or participate in the albums.

b. Data Linked to You – Location, contact info, user content, user data, photos, videos, posted comments, violation reports.

c. Data Not Linked to You – Usage data, advertising.

d. Safety – Minimum age 16 years, photos and videos scanned for inappropriate content.

e. Rules of Conduct:

• No Harm or Abuse of Others.

• No Violation of Laws or Rights. 

• No Obscene, Profane, or Inappropriate Content. 

• No Hate Speech.

f. Permissions Required by SpiinPiin:

• Storage 

Use Case:  SpiinPiin needs access to your storage to: allow you to select photos and videos from your gallery while creating posts; and save drafts or media files temporarily while posting.

Example:  When you’re creating a post, the app accesses your gallery to let you choose images or videos to upload.

Privacy Consideration: The app does not modify or delete your files. It only reads the media files you select for uploading.

• Contacts 

Use Case: SpiinPiin uses this permission to: access your contact list to help you find friends who are already using the app; and allow you to invite contacts to join SpiinPiin by sending them an invitation.

Example: If a friend from your contacts is already on SpiinPiin, you can follow them easily.

Privacy Consideration: Contact data is not stored or shared with third parties. It is used solely to connect with your friends.

• DATA HANDLING: SpiinPiin ensures all permissions are used responsibly and only when needed.  Sensitive data (e.g., location, contacts) is not shared with third parties or used for purposes other than those explicitly

• Camera 

Use Case: SpiinPiin uses camera permission to allow users to take photos or videos directly within the app and upload them instantly to their posts or stories.

Example: You can snap a picture or record a video in real time and share it immediately without leaving the app.

Privacy Consideration: The app only accesses the camera when you actively use it. No images or videos are captured without your explicit action.

• Location 

Use Case: SpiinPiin uses location permission to extract geotag information (location metadata) embedded in your photos. This helps tag your photos with the actual location where they were taken, making your posts more meaningful and engaging.

Example: When you upload a photo from a trip, SpiinPiin can tag the photo with the location (e.g., "Paris, France, etc.") automatically.

Privacy Consideration: The app does not track your real-time location or use GPS directly. It only reads location information stored in your media files.
