SPIE @ UTRGV

SPIE stands for the International Society of Optics & Photonics

The SPIE student chapter was officially established in May 2014 to connect University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV) students to the International Society of Optics and Photonics (SPIE), one of the worldwide large technical societies related to applied math.

We are now accepting speakers for the Spring 2024 semester!

We are young applied mathematicians, engineering scientists, and statisticians.

We are the leaders of future scientific advances in a variety of interdisciplinary areas: Physics, Mechanics, Engineering, Computer Science, Computational Biology, Medical Sciences, Environmental Sciences, and so much more. All undergraduate and graduate students with an interest in STEM are encouraged to join!

Grab a cup of coffee and learn something new!

The primary goal of the chapter is to help and develop further applied mathematics, statistics, and electrical engineering-based research at UTRGV. We offer the Rio Grande Valley an opportunity to get involved in STEM research, in academic/professional development, and in industrial experience through various chapter seminars/workshops.
