As for the definition of "suitable", I listed in my comment some of the features I would miss most if reverting back to a purely help desk/ticketing system. For me anything providing help desk ticketing and those listed features is suitable for my needs. Are my needs the same as everyone else? No, obviously not. Will I have requirements/desired features in common with some portion of individuals on this thread? Highly likely.

Very interesting thread - thx. I need to move our operations to a helpdesk that supports MFA as a bare minimum. Becoming a critical item on security audits. Spiceworks HD doesn't have this. My suspicion that the cloud version isn't as feature rich esp. around reports is backed up by this thread so I suspect my client will look elsewhere :-(
