VOLY is the centralized, systemized portal through which background checks and other critical information is verified so that our students are served as safely and securely as possible. In addition, it tracks volunteer hours served on any given campus, which is directly tied to fundamental operations such as funding and performance evaluations.

Solar Girls Staff and Solar Girls parent organizations continually strive to bring together as many parents, staff, scholars, and families through a variety of events, activities and initiatives whose sole purpose is to serve the Solar Community. As such, it is of the utmost importance that every person who wishes to volunteer, in ANY CAPACITY, must ... MUST ... be registered in the Dallas ISD VOLY system.

New Volunteers Must:

Complete an application, backgound check, and orientation (e-signature required)
Await volunteer clearance email notification
Once cleared, Sign-up for Volunteer Opportunities!

Returning Volunteers Must:
Log In using your Voly account
Update application, new background check request, and orientation (e-signature required)
Await volunteer clearance email notification
Once cleared, Sign-up for Volunteer Opportunities!

Who Must Register in VOLY?

EVERYONE WHO WISHES TO VOLUNTEER.

This means anything from being a member of the Solar Prep Girls PTA, to helping spruce up the school on a bulletin board or garden clean-up workday, to bringing snacks to school for your child's classroom, to sharpening pencils or cutting out paper shapes for your child's homeroom teacher.

While it may not always be the easiest portal to navigate, it is required to volunteer, so don't give up! Please keep reading to understand the details of registering. Remember this system is in place for the SAFETY OF ALL STUDENTS, period.

How & When Do I Register?

You can register or renew your registration any day of the year; it does not matter if your last registration occurrence was one week ago or long-since-expired. BEST PRACTICES is to register in August of each year so that you can easily hop into any volunteer opportunity at any time without wondering if you are in the system!
