If you want a complete installation solution to upgrade the audio in your vintage Chrysler or Dodge, choose SPGICRM Single Din Dash; if you need a durable replacement part to secure a loose phone mount or dash cam, choose OHLPRO 2. These two products solve entirely different problems, and picking the wrong one leaves you with a box of parts that simply won't fit your vehicle's needs. Whether you are braving cold weather conditions that demand reliable electronics or just trying to keep your navigation stable on icy roads, the distinction between an installation frame and a locking nut is critical.
• SPGICRM Single Din Dash: Its biggest strength is being a comprehensive kit for installing aftermarket stereos into specific classic Mopar vehicles; its trade-off is that it only fits a narrow list of older models from the 1980s and 1990s.
• Who each pick is for: Choose SPGICRM if you own a pre-2000 Chrysler, Dodge, or Jeep and want to modernize your sound system. Choose OHLPRO 2 if your current phone holder or GPS bracket has a stripped or missing screw and you need to tighten it down immediately.
This product is designed for a very specific demographic of car owners who drive older American vehicles. If you have a Chrysler Imperial from 1990 through 1993, a Dodge Caravan from 1984 through 2000, or a Jeep Sebring built between 1996 and 2005, this dash kit is engineered specifically for your dashboard geometry. The manufacturer lists compatibility across dozens of models including the New Yorker, LHS, Stratus, and Intrepid. It is not a universal adapter; it is a precision-molded frame intended to fill the gap left by removing a factory radio and making room for a modern single DIN unit.
The build quality focuses on stability and longevity using high-strength ABS plastic. The outer dimensions of the frame measure 8.38 by 3.46 inches, which aligns with the standard single DIN size required for most aftermarket head units. Inside, the inner dimensions are 7.16 by 2.08 inches, ensuring your new stereo sits flush without wobbling. The kit also includes two radio wiring harnesses, which suggests a focus on electrical reliability with copper wiring to maintain steady current flow. This is crucial for anyone trying to get clear audio performance from an older vehicle where the original wiring might be degraded.

You should buy this if you are undertaking a DIY stereo upgrade and want a clean, professional look that matches your car's original radio location. The mounting points are sized at 1.00 by 0.85 inches, providing a solid anchor for the new unit. However, if your vehicle is a newer model or a brand other than Chrysler, Dodge, or Jeep, this kit will likely not work. It is a specialized solution for a specific era of automotive design, offering a way to bring modern audio features like Bluetooth or USB connectivity back into cars that originally had AM/FM radios.
In stark contrast, the OHLPRO 2 is a small but vital hardware component for securing mobile devices and accessories in your vehicle. Many drivers find their phone mounts, dash cams, or GPS holders become wobbly over time as the locking mechanism wears out or strips. This product replaces those worn-out rings to restore the tightness of the connection. It is a "2-pack value set," meaning you get two identical locking rings, which allows you to fix multiple devices or keep a spare handy for future repairs.
The construction relies on high-strength ABS material, similar in durability philosophy to the dash kit but scaled down for a small fastener. The exterior features a textured finish to improve hand grip, allowing you to tighten the ring securely without needing pliers or wrenches. The internal threads are reinforced to prevent stripping during repeated adjustments. This tool-free design is a significant advantage for drivers who want to quickly switch between landscape and portrait viewing angles or adjust their camera position without fumbling for tools while driving.
It helps reduce loosening caused by vibration, movement, and daily use, which is particularly important when navigating rough roads or in winter conditions where temperature changes can affect metal and plastic expansion. However, it is strictly a replacement part. You cannot use this alone; it must be paired with an existing mount arm or socket. It is a maintenance item, not a primary installation piece.
• Best for vehicle audio upgrades → SPGICRM Single Din Dash, as it provides the structural frame and wiring needed to install a new stereo.
• Best for securing mobile accessories → OHLPRO 2, as it solves the problem of wobbly phone holders and dash cams with a secure locking mechanism.
• Best for compatibility with vintage Mopars → SPGICRM Single Din Dash, covering a wide range of Chrysler, Dodge, and Jeep models from the 80s and 90s.
• Best for quick, tool-free repairs → OHLPRO 2, allowing you to hand-tighten a loose mount in seconds without additional equipment.
• Best for long-term structural stability → SPGICRM Single Din Dash, with its wear-resistant ABS plastic and copper wiring designed for permanent installation.
• Best for multi-device setups → OHLPRO 2, since the 2-pack value set lets you secure both a phone mount and a dash cam simultaneously.
• Best for preventing vibration issues → OHLPRO 2, specifically engineered to reduce loosening caused by road bumps and daily driving vibrations.
• Best for modernizing old interiors → SPGICRM Single Din Dash, transforming a dated factory radio slot into a space for modern technology.
I would recommend the SPGICRM Single Din Dash if your goal is to completely overhaul the entertainment system in a classic Chrysler, Dodge, or Jeep. The inclusion of wiring harnesses and a robust frame makes it a complete solution for a major upgrade. However, if you are looking for a quick fix to stop your phone from sliding around on the dashboard, the OHLPRO 2 is the smarter, more cost-effective choice. Both serve distinct purposes, but for cold weather driving where reliable audio and stable navigation are paramount, having a secure mount (OHLPRO 2) or a powerful stereo (SPGICRM) depends entirely on what is currently broken in your vehicle. I personally lean toward the SPGICRM for a full restoration project because it addresses the core need of replacing outdated factory hardware, whereas the OHLPRO 2 is merely a patch for an accessory.
