Speka: AI Learning App (“Speka,” “we,” “our,” or “us”) respects your privacy and is committed to protecting the information you provide while using our application. This Privacy Policy explains, in clear and detailed language, what information may be collected, how information is used, how it may be shared with service providers, how long information may be retained, and what choices and rights you may have.
Speka is an educational application designed to help users learn through AI-powered educational tools, AI tutoring, interactive learning experiences, world and map exploration, Scan & Learn, listening and speaking exercises, writing activities, quizzes, and related educational features.
By downloading, accessing, or using Speka, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Privacy Policy. Where applicable law requires consent for a particular type of processing, we will request consent separately.
This Privacy Policy applies to information processed through the Speka Android application and services directly associated with the application.
It applies when you create or use an account, interact with our AI Tutor, use Scan & Learn, explore educational maps and world information, use listening or speaking exercises, complete quizzes, purchase subscriptions or in-app products, contact support, receive notifications, or otherwise interact with the application.
This Privacy Policy does not automatically apply to third-party websites, applications, advertising networks, payment services, or other services that you may access through Speka. Those services are governed by their own privacy policies.
We collect or process information that is reasonably necessary to operate, secure, maintain, and improve Speka. The specific information processed depends on the features you use, your device settings, the permissions you grant, your account configuration, and applicable law.
The information may include information that you directly provide, information generated through your use of the application, technical information automatically generated by your device, information relating to purchases, and information received from third-party service providers.
We aim to collect only information reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy.
You may voluntarily provide information when you use Speka.
For example, if Speka provides account registration or profile functionality, you may provide information such as your name, email address, username, profile information, or other information necessary to establish and manage your account.
You may also provide information when contacting customer support, submitting feedback, reporting a technical problem, requesting assistance, or communicating with us about the application.
If you voluntarily provide information in an AI learning session, quiz, writing exercise, or other educational feature, that information may be processed to provide the requested educational functionality.
You should avoid submitting highly sensitive, confidential, financial, governmental identification, medical, or other unnecessary personal information into AI prompts or educational activities unless the feature specifically requires it.
Speka provides AI-powered learning functionality that may allow users to ask questions, request explanations, practice educational topics, generate learning materials, receive tutoring assistance, and interact with AI-generated educational content.
When you use an AI feature, the text, questions, prompts, answers, or other information you intentionally submit may be transmitted to our AI service providers or processing infrastructure so that the requested AI response can be generated.
The information may be processed to understand your request, generate an answer, maintain the functionality of the AI Tutor, identify technical problems, prevent misuse, improve service quality where permitted, and provide the educational experience you requested.
We do not intentionally request sensitive personal information for ordinary educational use. You should therefore avoid entering unnecessary personal information into AI conversations.
AI-generated responses may not always be accurate, complete, or suitable for every situation. Speka is an educational tool and should not be treated as a substitute for professional medical, legal, financial, or other specialized advice.
Speka may provide a Scan & Learn feature that allows you to use your device camera to capture an image or scan educational material and receive learning information based on the captured content.
When you use this feature, the image or visual information you intentionally provide may be processed to identify or understand the content and generate an educational response.
Camera access is requested only when a feature requiring the camera is used. We do not use the camera to secretly monitor you or continuously record your surroundings.
Depending on the technical implementation of the feature, captured content may be processed on the device or transmitted to our servers or third-party AI processing providers to provide the requested functionality.
You should avoid scanning documents containing unnecessary sensitive information, passwords, financial information, government identification numbers, or other private information.
Speka may provide educational activities involving reading, listening, speaking, writing, pronunciation, vocabulary, comprehension, and quizzes.
When you use speaking or pronunciation features, the audio you intentionally provide may be processed to recognize speech, evaluate pronunciation, understand your response, or provide educational feedback.
When you use writing activities, the text you submit may be processed to evaluate your answer, provide corrections, explain mistakes, generate educational feedback, or create additional exercises.
Quiz responses and learning activity information may be processed to provide scores, feedback, progress information, and personalized educational experiences where such functionality is available.
We do not use microphone access to continuously record conversations outside the feature for which you activated the microphone.
When you use Speka, certain technical information may be automatically generated by your device or application.
This may include information such as device model, manufacturer, operating system version, application version, language, time zone, IP address, network information, device identifiers, advertising identifiers where available, application performance information, crash information, and technical diagnostics.
This information may be used to maintain application security, diagnose crashes, troubleshoot technical problems, understand application performance, prevent fraud or abuse, provide compatibility, measure application usage, and improve Speka.
The exact information collected depends on the third-party SDKs and services integrated into the particular version of Speka.
Speka requests certain Android permissions because particular educational features require access to device functionality. We do not consider permission access itself to mean that we continuously collect or monitor the information associated with that permission.
You can grant, deny, or revoke permissions through your Android device settings. If you deny a permission, the associated feature may not function correctly.
android.permission.CAMERA
Speka requests camera access to provide features such as Scan & Learn and other educational functionality that requires capturing images.
The camera may be activated when you intentionally use a camera-based feature. For example, you may point your camera at educational material and use Scan & Learn to obtain an explanation or learning content.
We do not intentionally activate the camera secretly or continuously record your surroundings in the background.
If you do not want Speka to access your camera, you can deny or revoke the camera permission through your Android settings. Camera-dependent features may then be unavailable.
android.permission.VIBRATE
Speka may use vibration functionality to provide tactile feedback for certain interactions, alerts, notifications, educational activities, or user-interface actions.
Vibration access does not give Speka access to personal information, contacts, photos, microphone recordings, or other private content.
android.permission.RECORD_AUDIO
Speka requests microphone access for educational features involving speaking, pronunciation, voice interaction, listening exercises, or other functionality where you intentionally provide audio.
For example, if you use a speaking exercise, the application may need microphone access to capture your voice so that the application can process your speech and provide educational feedback.
The microphone is not intended to continuously record conversations or ambient sound when you are not using a microphone-dependent feature.
You can revoke microphone access at any time through Android settings. If you disable the permission, speaking and other microphone-dependent educational features may not function.
android.permission.MODIFY_AUDIO_SETTINGS
Speka may use this permission to configure audio behavior required for educational features involving sound, voice, listening, pronunciation, or audio playback.
This permission allows the application to configure supported audio settings and does not by itself provide access to your personal files or conversations.
android.permission.POST_NOTIFICATIONS
Speka may request notification permission to send useful notifications such as learning reminders, educational updates, subscription information, important account messages, or other application-related notifications.
Notifications are optional where Android allows users to control them. You can disable notifications through your device settings.
Disabling notifications does not necessarily prevent you from using the main educational features of Speka.
We use information for legitimate and disclosed purposes associated with operating Speka.
This may include providing AI Tutor functionality, processing educational questions, analyzing scanned educational material, providing speaking and listening exercises, evaluating quizzes, generating learning content, maintaining user accounts, providing customer support, processing subscriptions and in-app purchases, sending notifications, preventing abuse, improving application functionality, diagnosing crashes, maintaining security, measuring performance, displaying advertisements, and complying with legal obligations.
We may also use aggregated or de-identified information to understand how users interact with the application and determine which features require improvement.
We do not intentionally use information for purposes unrelated to the operation, security, improvement, advertising, or legitimate business activities of Speka unless we disclose such purposes or obtain consent where required.
For users in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, and other jurisdictions where similar legal requirements apply, we process personal information using appropriate legal bases under applicable data protection laws.
Where processing is necessary to provide a feature you request, we may rely on the necessity of performing a contract or providing requested services. For example, processing information required to provide your account, AI Tutor functionality, premium entitlement, or other requested services may be necessary to provide the service.
We may rely on your consent where consent is legally required, such as certain forms of personalized advertising, optional permissions, or other processing activities requiring affirmative consent.
We may rely on legitimate interests for activities such as maintaining application security, preventing fraud and abuse, diagnosing technical problems, improving application performance, protecting our services, and maintaining business operations, provided that those interests are not overridden by your rights and interests.
We may also process information where necessary to comply with legal obligations, protect vital interests, establish or defend legal claims, or otherwise where permitted by applicable law.
Where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw consent at any time. Withdrawal does not affect processing that occurred before consent was withdrawn.
Speka may use third-party service providers for advertising, analytics, crash reporting, application performance, infrastructure, AI processing, payment processing, notifications, and other technical services.
Third-party providers may process certain information according to their own privacy policies. The exact information processed depends on the services integrated into the version of Speka you use.
We do not intentionally provide advertising providers with private AI conversations, microphone recordings, or Scan & Learn images for unrelated advertising purposes.
However, advertising and analytics providers may independently collect technical, advertising, usage, or diagnostic information through their SDKs as described below.
Speka may use Google AdMob to display advertisements.
AdMob may process information such as advertising identifiers, device information, IP address, application information, approximate location, advertising interactions, and information relating to advertisements displayed or interacted with.

Depending on your location, applicable law, device settings, and consent choices, advertisements may be personalized or non-personalized.
You can manage certain advertising preferences through Android and Google privacy settings.

Firebase services are configured according to our application's requirements and are not automatically given access to every type of information available on your device.

Speka may use Firebase Crashlytics to identify crashes, errors, and application stability issues.
Crashlytics may process information such as device model, operating system, application version, crash logs, stack traces, timestamps, and information about application behavior surrounding a crash.
This information helps us identify bugs and release technical fixes.
Crashlytics is not intended to record your microphone, camera, private conversations, or personal learning content simply because the SDK is installed.

Speka may display advertisements through one or more advertising networks.
Advertising partners may use advertising identifiers and technical information to deliver and measure advertisements.
Where required by applicable law, we may provide an advertising consent mechanism allowing you to choose whether certain forms of personalized advertising are permitted.
You may also be able to reset or limit your Android advertising identifier through your device's privacy or advertising settings.
If you disable personalized advertising, you may continue to see advertisements, but they may be less relevant to your interests.
Because third-party advertising technologies can change, the advertising partners used by a particular version of Speka may vary.
Speka may provide optional subscriptions and one-time in-app purchases that provide access to premium educational features, additional AI functionality, enhanced learning tools, additional content, an ad-free experience, additional usage limits, or other premium functionality.
The exact products and benefits available may change over time.
Before completing a purchase, Google Play will display applicable pricing, billing frequency, subscription duration, trial terms, and other important purchase information.
Where purchases are made through Google Play, transactions are processed through Google Play Billing.
Speka does not directly collect or store your complete credit card number, debit card number, bank account credentials, or other complete payment credentials used by Google Play.
Google Play handles payment processing according to Google's own security and privacy practices.
Speka may receive limited purchase information necessary to verify your purchase and provide the associated premium functionality.
Privacy Policy:
https://policies.google.com/privacy
When you purchase a subscription, Speka may process information such as the subscription product identifier, purchase status, purchase date, expiration or renewal status, transaction identifier, and entitlement information.
This information allows us to determine whether premium features should be enabled for you.
We do not need your complete payment card information to verify a subscription.
Some subscriptions may automatically renew at the end of each billing period unless you cancel them through Google Play before the renewal date.
The applicable price, billing frequency, renewal terms, trial terms, and benefits will be displayed before you complete the purchase.
You are responsible for reviewing the subscription terms before purchase.
Deleting Speka from your device does not necessarily cancel an active subscription.
Speka may offer free trials, introductory prices, promotional subscriptions, discounts, or other special offers.
Where a free trial automatically converts into a paid subscription, the applicable terms and renewal price will be displayed before purchase.
You must cancel the subscription through the applicable Google Play controls before the end of the trial period if you do not wish to continue with a paid subscription.
You may manage or cancel eligible subscriptions through your Google Play account.
Cancellation generally prevents future renewal but does not necessarily provide an immediate refund or remove access to features that have already been paid for.
Premium access may continue until the end of the applicable paid period, subject to the terms of the particular product.
Refunds for purchases made through Google Play are subject to Google Play's refund policies and applicable law.
Speka does not directly receive or store your complete payment credentials and may not be able to independently refund transactions processed through Google Play.
If you need a refund, you should use the applicable Google Play refund or purchase-support process.
Speka may offer one-time digital purchases, such as premium educational resources, AI credits, additional functionality, or other digital benefits.
After a successful purchase, Google Play provides confirmation that allows Speka to verify the transaction and provide the purchased functionality.
The exact availability and terms of one-time products will be displayed inside the application.
We retain information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, unless a longer period is required or permitted by law.
Account information may be retained for as long as your account remains active or as necessary to provide services.
AI interaction information may be retained for a limited period where necessary to provide the requested feature, maintain conversation functionality, improve service reliability where legally permitted, prevent abuse, or satisfy legal obligations.
Technical, analytics, and crash information may be retained according to the retention periods and configurations of the relevant third-party services.
Purchase and transaction records may be retained for as long as necessary for accounting, fraud prevention, dispute resolution, tax, legal, and regulatory purposes.
When information is no longer required, we may delete it, anonymize it, aggregate it, or securely dispose of it.
Depending on your location and applicable law, you may have the right to know whether we process your personal information and to request information regarding the categories of information we process, the purposes for processing, the categories of recipients, and other information required by law.
We will respond to verified privacy requests within the period required by applicable law.
Depending on applicable law, you may request access to personal information associated with you.
We may need to verify your identity before providing information in order to protect your account and prevent unauthorized disclosure.
Certain information may be excluded where disclosure is prohibited or restricted by applicable law.
If you believe personal information we maintain about you is inaccurate or incomplete, you may request that it be corrected.
Where technically and legally possible, we will correct inaccurate information after verifying the request.
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may request deletion of personal information that we maintain about you.
After receiving and verifying a deletion request, we will delete or anonymize information where required by applicable law.
Deletion may not be possible where we are legally required to retain information, where information is necessary to establish or defend legal claims, prevent fraud, complete transactions, maintain security, or satisfy other legal obligations.
Where GDPR or another applicable privacy law provides this right, you may request that we restrict processing of your personal information in certain circumstances.
For example, you may request restriction where you contest the accuracy of information, where processing is unlawful but you prefer restriction instead of deletion, or where you have objected to processing and the applicable legal assessment is pending.
Where applicable law provides this right, you may object to certain processing of your personal information, including processing based on legitimate interests.
You may also have the right to object to certain forms of direct marketing or profiling.
We will consider your objection according to applicable law and may continue processing where we have a legally permitted overriding reason.
Where applicable, particularly under GDPR, you may have the right to request certain personal information in a structured, commonly used, machine-readable format and request that it be transmitted to another organization where technically feasible and legally required.
This right generally applies only to certain information processed by automated means based on consent or contractual necessity.
Where we process personal information based on your consent, you may withdraw that consent at any time.
Withdrawal does not make processing that occurred before withdrawal unlawful.
You may also be able to withdraw certain permissions directly through your Android device settings.
If you are located in the European Economic Area, you may have rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
Depending on the circumstances, these rights include access, correction, deletion, restriction of processing, objection to processing, data portability, withdrawal of consent, and the right to complain to a supervisory authority.
You also have the right to receive information regarding the legal basis used for processing your personal information.
We will not discriminate against you for exercising rights provided by applicable law.
If you are a California resident, you may have rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA).
Depending on applicability, these rights may include the right to know what categories of personal information we collect, the categories of sources from which information is collected, the purposes for collection, and categories of recipients.
You may also have the right to request deletion, correction, and access to certain personal information.
California residents may have rights relating to opting out of the sale or sharing of personal information, including sharing for cross-context behavioral advertising where applicable.
Speka does not sell personal information for monetary consideration in the ordinary meaning of “sell.” However, certain advertising technologies may constitute “sharing” or another regulated activity under California law depending on the facts and configuration.
Where applicable, we will provide the legally required opt-out mechanism.
We will not discriminate against you for exercising rights granted under applicable California law.
Virginia residents may have rights under the Virginia Consumer Data Protection Act (VCDPA) or other applicable Virginia privacy legislation.
Depending on applicability, these rights may include the right to confirm whether personal data is being processed, access personal data, correct inaccuracies, delete personal data, obtain a copy of certain personal data, and opt out of certain processing.
These opt-out rights may include targeted advertising, the sale of personal data, and certain profiling activities that produce legal or similarly significant effects.
We will process verified requests in accordance with applicable Virginia law.
If you are located in Brazil, you may have rights under Brazil's Lei Geral de Proteção de Dados Pessoais (LGPD).
Depending on applicable law, these rights may include confirmation of processing, access to personal data, correction of incomplete or inaccurate data, anonymization, blocking or deletion of unnecessary or excessively processed information, data portability where applicable, information regarding public and private entities with which information has been shared, information regarding the possibility of refusing consent and the consequences of refusal, and revocation of consent.
Brazilian users may also have the right to submit complaints to the Autoridade Nacional de Proteção de Dados (ANPD) where applicable.
We will process requests according to the requirements and limitations established by Brazilian law.
You may have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority or supervisory authority if you believe that your personal information has been processed unlawfully or that your privacy rights have been violated.
European users may contact the relevant data protection supervisory authority in the country where they live, work, or where they believe an infringement occurred.
Brazilian users may contact the ANPD where applicable.
You may also contact us first so that we can investigate and attempt to resolve your concern.
We may share information with service providers that help us operate Speka.
These providers may include cloud infrastructure providers, AI service providers, analytics providers, crash-reporting providers, advertising networks, payment providers, customer-support providers, authentication providers, and other technical service providers.
We share information only to the extent reasonably necessary for the applicable service or purpose.
We may also disclose information where required by law, legal process, court order, government request, fraud investigation, security investigation, or to protect the rights, property, and safety of Speka, our users, or others.
We do not sell your personal information in the traditional sense of exchanging personal information for money.
However, certain advertising and analytics technologies may involve processing that is legally classified as “sharing,” “targeted advertising,” or a similar regulated activity under particular privacy laws.
Where applicable law provides an opt-out right, we will provide appropriate mechanisms to exercise that right.
You may limit certain advertising-related processing by changing advertising and privacy settings on your Android device or by using privacy controls presented within Speka where applicable.
If Speka provides a consent-management or privacy settings interface, you may use that interface to change your applicable choices.
You may also deny optional device permissions.
Please understand that disabling certain permissions or advertising technologies may affect some features or the availability of personalized advertising.
Because our service providers may operate internationally, information may be processed in countries other than the country where you live.
Where required by applicable law, we use appropriate legal safeguards for international transfers, which may include contractual safeguards, adequacy mechanisms, or other legally recognized transfer mechanisms.
Third-party providers may independently process information according to their own international data-transfer practices and privacy policies.
We take reasonable technical and organizational measures designed to protect personal information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, destruction, and misuse.
Security measures may include encrypted communications, access controls, authentication mechanisms, monitoring, secure infrastructure, restricted access, and other technical safeguards appropriate to the nature of the information.
However, no electronic transmission or storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
You should also protect your device, Google Account, passwords, and other credentials against unauthorized access.
Speka is an educational application and may be attractive to students and younger users.
Unless specifically stated otherwise in the application's applicable age and parental-consent flow, Speka is not intended to knowingly collect personal information from children in violation of applicable law.
Where applicable law requires parental consent before collecting personal information from children, we will use appropriate measures designed to comply with those requirements.
If you believe that a child has provided personal information to us without appropriate authorization or consent, please contact us so that we can investigate and take appropriate action.
Speka may allow users to submit text, images, audio, questions, answers, prompts, or other educational content.
You remain responsible for the content you choose to submit.
You should not upload passwords, payment card numbers, government identification documents, confidential business information, or other sensitive information unless the feature specifically requires it.
Content submitted to AI-powered features may need to be transmitted to our servers or AI service providers to provide the requested functionality.
Certain AI-powered features may rely on third-party AI infrastructure or APIs.
When such services are used, information necessary to process your request may be transmitted to the relevant provider.
The exact provider and processing practices may depend on the version and configuration of Speka.
We take reasonable steps to limit information transmitted to AI providers to what is necessary for the requested feature.
The Android application itself may not use traditional browser cookies in the same way as a website.
However, third-party SDKs may use technologies such as SDK identifiers, advertising identifiers, local storage, device identifiers, or similar technologies to provide analytics, advertising, security, measurement, and other services.
These technologies may help providers recognize an application installation or device, measure advertising performance, prevent fraud, or understand application usage.
Where Speka provides account functionality, you may request deletion of your account and associated personal information through available account controls or by contacting us.
We may need to verify your identity before processing the request.
Some information may remain after account deletion where required for legal compliance, fraud prevention, financial records, dispute resolution, security, or other legally permitted purposes.
Information that is no longer required will be deleted or anonymized according to our retention practices.
Speka may contain links or references to third-party websites, educational resources, services, or applications.
We are not responsible for the privacy practices, security, content, or policies of third-party services.
You should review the privacy policy of a third-party service before providing information to that service.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in Speka, new features, third-party services, legal requirements, security practices, or business operations.
When we make significant changes, we may provide additional notice through the application or another appropriate method.
The “Last Updated” date at the beginning of this Privacy Policy indicates when the policy was most recently revised.
We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy periodically.
If you have questions about this Privacy Policy, want to exercise an applicable privacy right, have concerns about how your information is processed, or want to request deletion or correction of your information, please contact us through the contact information provided in the Speka application or its official privacy-policy page.
