SpeedZone Grant Application

Application can be made via email which is found here. Please include a letter of applicationa detialilng the following:

• The reason for your application, including the level at which you are representing the club (see examples below)
• Supporting documentation for your application (e.g. certificate or form as evidence of your achievement)

Please contact any of our management committee (found here) or one of our SpeedZone Grants committee members.

Application criteria

Grant applications will be considered for all purposes that support opportunities for members to participate in speed skating roller sports and related activities or develop the sport of speed skating.

Prioritising applications

Purposes that benefit or promote the club as a whole will be given priority over those that just benefit an individual.

The following examples illustrate our approach. This is not an exhaustive list.

Highest priority grants

• Equipment that can be used by all club members (e.g. timing equipment, club skates & wheels, training equipment etc)
• Group coaching development courses
• Group skater development sessions

Lower priority grants

• Club member represents Australia at World Championships
• Club member represents Speed Zone at Interstate (held outside of Queensland) or International competition AND competes in club skin-suit
• Club member represents Queensland at Australian Championships held outside of Queensland

Note: A limit of one grant per skater per year shall apply. All applications are subject to funding availability.

The above are only examples, the SpeedZone Grants Committee will give consideration to other worthwhile purposes; however, the amount of grant money available is limited and applications must be prioritised.

The awarding of Grants is at the absolute discretion of the SpeedZone Grants Committee. Persons who have brought the sport or club into disrepute will not be considered for grants.
