Privacy Policy – Speedly: GPS Speedometer & HUD

HPG Mobile ("we", "us", "our") built Speedly: GPS Speedometer & HUD (the "App") as an ad-supported app with an optional one-time in-app purchase. This Privacy Policy explains what information is processed when you use the App and the choices you have.

1. Information we process

a) Location (GPS)

The App requests precise location permission to calculate your speed, distance, and trip time. Location is processed on your device only. We do not send your location or trip routes to our servers, and we do not sell your location data. The App uses location while it is open on screen, or while a trip is running with a visible notification. It does not access your location in the background otherwise.

b) Trip data

Speed, distance, trip time and trip history are stored locally on your device. We do not have access to this data. It is deleted when you clear it in the App, clear the App's data, or uninstall the App.

c) Information collected by third-party services

The App uses the following third-party services, which may collect information automatically under their own privacy policies:

- Google AdMob (advertising): advertising ID, device information, IP address (which may be used to infer approximate location), and ad interaction data, used to show and measure ads. https://policies.google.com/privacy

- Google User Messaging Platform: records your ad consent choices where required by law (e.g. EEA, UK).

- Firebase Analytics: anonymous usage events, device and app information, used to understand how the App is used and to improve it. https://firebase.google.com/support/privacy

- Firebase Crashlytics: crash logs and diagnostic information, used to fix bugs.

- Google Play Billing: processes the one-time purchase. We do not receive or store your payment card details.

2. Permissions

- Location (precise/approximate): required to measure speed and distance.

- Notifications/foreground service: to show an ongoing notification while a trip is being tracked.

- Internet and network state: to load ads, analytics and verify purchases.

You can revoke permissions at any time in your device settings; speed tracking will not work without location permission.

3. How we use information

We use information to provide the App's features, show ads, measure performance, fix crashes, verify purchases and improve the App. We do not use your data to identify you personally.

4. Advertising and your choices

Ads may be personalized based on your advertising ID where permitted. You can reset your advertising ID or opt out of personalized ads in your Android settings (Settings > Google > Ads, or Settings > Privacy > Ads). Users in the EEA, UK and Switzerland are asked for consent before personalized ads are shown and can change their choice in the App's settings. Purchasing Premium removes ads.

5. Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. Information is shared only with the service providers listed above, or when required by law.

6. Data retention and deletion

We do not maintain user accounts and do not store your location or trip data on our servers. Data held by third-party services is retained according to their policies. To request deletion of analytics data associated with your device, contact us at admin@hpgmobile.com. 

7. Children

The App is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided information, please contact us and we will take steps to delete it.

8. Security

We use reasonable measures to protect information, and data sent by the services above is encrypted in transit. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.

9. Your rights

Depending on where you live (for example under GDPR or CCPA/CPRA), you may have the right to access, correct, delete or restrict processing of your personal information, and to withdraw consent. Contact us to exercise these rights.

10. Safety disclaimer

The App provides speed estimates based on GPS and is for reference only. Always follow traffic laws and your vehicle's speedometer. Do not operate your phone while driving.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes take effect when posted on this page with a new effective date.
