SpeedLet: internet speed in your status bar

SpeedLet is a free Android app that shows your live internet speed right next to the clock. It counts your Wi-Fi and mobile data by day and by app, warns you before your mobile data plan runs out, and tests your internet speed, ping and jitter.

Questions

Why isn't the speed by the clock the same as a speed test?

They show different things. By the clock is what your phone is downloading or uploading right now: with nothing loading it's near 0, even on fast internet. A speed test shows the most your internet can do.

Why doesn't my data usage match my operator's?

Your operator counts in its own way: its month may start on another day or hour, and with two SIM cards each operator counts only its own. SpeedLet counts all the mobile data your phone uses. Set your plan's billing day in SpeedLet, and with SpeedLet Pro enter your operator's figure to match it.

What is the ping under load?

Ping is how long your phone waits for the internet to answer: the lower, the better for games and calls. Under load it's the same while the internet is busy, say while someone at home downloads or watches videos. If it grows a lot, games and calls lag whenever the internet is busy.

Which phones does SpeedLet work on?

Android 8 and newer: Samsung, Xiaomi, Huawei, OPPO, realme, OnePlus, vivo and other phones, with tips for each maker on keeping it running in the background. The app speaks 20 languages.
