CHRIS PARNO

Chris Parno enters his 10th season as the Associate Head Track and Field Coach. Parno leads the men and women's sprint/hurdle groups, while serving as the recruiting coordinator. While being led by Parno, the Maverick sprinters and hurdlers have experienced unprecedented success. On top of his coaching duties at Minnesota State, Parno serves as the USATF Mid-America Regional Education Coordinator, teaching level 1 certification courses.

Coaching Achievements (Since the 2012-13 season):

  • 6 Individual NCAA National Champions, 8 Individual/Relay NCAA National Runner-up

  • 115 NCAA All-Americans (96 first team, 19 second team)

  • D2 record – Myles Hunter (60m hurdles – 7.53)

  • 113 NSIC individual/relay Conference Champions

  • 309 NSIC all-conference performances

  • 251 NCAA national qualifying performances (provisional/auto)12

ELISABETH OEHLER

Elisabeth is a strength coach who worked for the German Weightlifting Federation from 2017-2020 as manager of the Youth Department and Head of Talent Identification. She´s a licensed weightlifting coach (high performance) by the German Olympic Sports Confederation, studied Sports Science and holds several qualifications in Youth Development and S&C. She has her own consulting business helping National Governing Bodies and sports organizations to develop and implement Long Term Athletic Development programs. She has worked with youth and elite athletes in weightlifting, rugby, soccer, basketball and athletics.

DEERICK SMITH

Coach Deerick Smith is a certified Strength and Conditioning specialist through the NSCA. He has served as Director of Strength and Conditioning and Assistant Athletic Director at Southside School District in Arkansas since 2017. He was selected as the Region 2 Coach of the Year by the NSCA representing Arkansas, Texas, Oklahoma and Louisiana. He runs Smith Performance LLC which provides programming and consultation services for High Schools and small colleges.

TONY HOLLER

Tony has been coaching track and field for 40 years, and spent 38 years teaching chemistry. He is the owner of the revolutionary speed training program called Feed the Cats, and is the co-owner of the Track Football Consortium.

JOSH KOZUCH

Coach Kozuch is entering his seventh season as a Mental Performance Coach in professional baseball. He spent four seasons with the New York Mets, and now works for the Tampa Bay Rays. The best part about his job is having the opportunity each day to help others achieve their dreams (along with being at the ball field). By teaching tools that enable better decision making, handling stress, and maximizing talent, he has helped numerous players and staff go on to have successful careers both on and off the field. He’s also consulted with other sports and businesses throughout his career.

BILL MILLER

Bill has a passion for developing explosive baseball, javelin and golf athletes. Through consistent measurement and emphasis on explosive power, he has helped athletes reach new heights with throwing and exit velocity. He has written two books, Swing Fast: A Guide To Developing Rotational Power and Throw Fast: A Guide To Developing Throwing Power.

MIKE TUCKER

Mike Tucker is in this 4th year as the Head Strength & Conditioning Coach for Villanova Football. Mike has previous stops at San Jose State, Clemson, Kutztown, North Dakota State, and Holy Cross. Mike played football and earned his bachelor’s degree from Holy Cross and his master’s degree from San Jose State.

TYLER GERMAIN

Tyler Germain is the head men's and women's track and field coach at Kalamazoo Central High School in Kalamazoo, Michigan. For 17 seasons he has worked primarily with sprinters and hurdlers at the high school level in both Michigan and Illinois. Coach Germain has served as everything from a volunteer to a head coach in both boys and girls programs. He has written a number of articles for SimpliFaster, and is the founder of the Virtual Speed and Performance Clinic.
