Visit the SpeechWire page for the tournament. The page includes access to schmeats, prompts, and other tournament information. NOTE: this is NOT the page for accessing ballots!
Feel free to drop into the Help Desk Zoom Chat. It will be open from 8am on Saturday the 20th until just before awards.
Because we are using WFCA rules rather than WHSFA, we do not require the use of the 5 box rubric. Instead, the “Comments” box is where comments can be listed out, so this is intended functionality.
Current WFCA Rules can be found on the WFCA website.
So one way you can write out your comments in a way like this (broadly speaking of course):
Positives
Good pacing
Nice inflection
Improvements
Over time
Stronger argument
We are primarily using WFCA rules, however making exceptions for WHSFA variance. You can find the WFCA Rules book on the WFCA Website.
Storytelling
Round 1: A story of the undead.
Round 2: A fable
Round 3 A story about finally being heard
Final/Power: student choice from the prelims
O.I.L.
Rounds 1 and 3: Poetry
Rounds 2 and Final: Prose
We have a balance of teams from both WFCA and WHSFA. Therefore we are allowing speaker stands (Ext, Farago, Group, Oratory, Prose, Poet, Special Occasion). Chairs allowed in Group, and solo serious and humorous. Notes ARE allowed in Oratory. The full chart of differences can be found on page 3 of the WFCA handbook. Additionally no penalty for short OIL or Informative speeches.
Awards will streamed on the UW-Whitewater Forensics Facebook Page. We plan on having the stream at 5:30pm cst.
